The Arts and Crafts Chapel of St John the Baptist between Matlock and Matlock Bath is a truly beautiful Chapel.
With ornamental plasterwork by master plastererer George Bankart, featuring plants and birds.
Stained glass East Window by Louis Davis — ‘the last of the pre-Raphaelites’;
Elegant and exemplary Arts and Crafts woodwork with painted and gilded panelling.
Plaque to Vida, the pet dog of the chapel’s founder Louisa Harris, who apparently had it built so she could take communion with her dog. ❤️

Peakaboo has relocated into one of the lovely old buildings in Bakewell’s Diamond Court and Rebecca has made it look wonderful.
And with jewellery prices starting at £3! there really is something for everyone’s budget.
It’s great to see businesses moving into our beautiful courtyards which really are the hidden gems of Bakewell. ❤️

Set up by the much missed Pat and Geoff Fuller it continues to go from strength to strength and is now one of the UK’s premier pottery festivals.
