| It was a busy day yesterday for our officers after a 49-year-old woman was arrested at Birmingham International for breaching a court order.
Later on, that day, officers stopped two people on the cross-city line. A 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion for theft from a vehicle. The second suspect made off from officers along the rail track.
With the help of our specialist dog unit, a 53-year-old man was detained, and after further enquiries arrested on suspicion of shop theft as well as trespassing on the rail line.
Both remain in custody for further questioning.
Trespassing on railway tracks is a criminal offence in the UK, carrying a maximum fine of £1,000 and a criminal record. Offenders may also receive a £60 Penalty Notice for Disorder, while more severe actions, such as disrupting services, can lead to higher fines or imprisonment.
