Real Birmingham - Free Walking Tour

Real Birmingham - Free Walking Tour An independent social enterprise run by two resident Brummies. We aim to give great tours, meet inte Pay as you feel!

Discover the unique history and culture of England's second city on a fun, friendly and free walking tour. From the birth of heavy metal to the city's rise as the 'workshop of the world' - get an unrivalled insight into one of the UK's most misunderstood cities. We chart Birmingham’s industrial rise, it’s mid century slump, music, architecture, the accent and local quirks with a mixture of stories

and jokes. With the help of all our guests, we have raised over £6,000 for local charities since starting on a very rainy day in February 2016. All profit goes to charity and we do this because we love it. Please book your place on www.realbirmingham.com

After a wonderful 6 years, it is time for us to say goodbye to Real Birmingham.

With Rob now living in Canada and Ruby now living in Spain, we have taken the decision to close the company.

Thank you so much to every single one of you that has walked the streets of our beloved Brum with us! Thanks also for all the support, enthusiasm and love that we’ve felt on this journey.

Who’d have thought that a random shower thought could turn into something so great?!

Birmingham, it’s been an absolute pleasure.

Here is our “Real Birmingham wrapped”…

Birmingham. Once the ‘Workshop of the World’. Once much maligned in popular culture. But always possessing an independent swagger, a self-deprecating sense of humour and a disregard for history with the city’s motto ‘Forward’. Join me, Rob, on a walking tour that charts Brum’s industrial rise, its mid-century transformation, music, culture and local quirks told through stories and jokes. Even better - 100% of our profit to charity!

Book your space on www.realbirmingham.com! Tour dates available on 5th Feb, 5th March and 26th March.

It’s Birmingham Heritage Week! ✨
Even though these images from our tours were only taken in 2016, it’s amazing to see how much our wonderful city has changed.

We are halfway through Heritage week so be sure to check out some of the exciting events and exhibitions on offer! 🤩

(We do kinda miss the Central Library and Iron Man though! 🥲)

It felt so good to be back touring with a great group on Saturday. Tours this size are fun as they’re so much more interactive and it often becomes more of a collective conversation than a performance!

The biggest moment in the tour had to be when, for the very first time, we were able to do the Chamberlain Square stop from inside the square. When we started in 2016 John Madin’s library’s was still completely intact. Since then we’ve navigated a demolition site and then a building site. It’s felt like a long time coming so we’re glad to show it off.

We’ve got lots of tours coming up so head to our website to book yourself on!
