Our company unfortunately went into administration on Tuesday 31st July.
We fought very hard to collect some long overdue monies, the most substantial being from the Carillion Morgan JV on the A1L2B (Leeming to Barton) project.
Recently we received an offer from them, which was quite some way off from what we felt we were due to, however mounting pressure from our creditors in addition to HMRC revoking their support left us little option but to accept the offer in order to try and maintain the business, this however has proven a bridge to far for us.
In our 13 years and 7 months of trading we took the company for 3 Operatives, operating from a small study attached to my bedroom in a terraced house in Eldon Lane to a national contracting business, which peaked at circa 180 staff, working for all of the major contractors and gaining a first class reputation.
I have always strived to do things right and always been honest and open with all who have crossed by path and will continue to do so.
I can honestly say that during that period I have had lots of good times (some great), but as many sad/bad times. Running a business comes with many challenges and can be a lonely place, never more so than the past month or so.
Over the past few days the majority of our team has found new employment, which I’m extremely pleased about and I will continually try and help those who are still looking.
A big thank you to our clients, some of whom we have worked with continuously over the past 13 years and have provided us with continuity of work, we still had a healthy order book, taking orders of over £1M in the last 2 weeks, which is such a shame.
I would also like to thank our suppliers who have supported us during this journey and I am personally sadden that some of them may lose out due to the current circumstances we find ourselves in - I’m both disappointed and sorry we couldn’t do any more.
Finally, big thanks to all that have supported me personally over a difficult 24 months, it has been and is very much appreciated - I will be here for you when needed.
All the very best
Andy
