So the next stage is finally happening, after 14 months in a plaster cast/moon boot after a non union of ankle fusion, I’m at pre assessment ready for surgery in two weeks. My surgeon is going to remove all the metal screws, pins and rods from my ankle/leg and then use bone from my pelvis to fill the holes. So another 3 months in a plaster cast, hoping it heals this time. If it does I’ll have to have the metal work put back in for the ankle to be fused again so another long recovery from that.

Thank you for all of your messages and words of encouragement over the last 14 months. A lot of people have said I’m inspirational by continuing to travel etc whilst up against it with my health, but to me, I’m just living the life I’ve been blessed with, to the fullest I can, memories mean a lot to me and I’ve got my hand controls and wheelchair. Anything is possible, positive thinking does count for a lot. I’m lucky that I have such a strong network of family and friends around me to support me when I do need it, but also make the memories with me along the way.

I’m scared for what’s to come, I know the pain is going to be off the scale and the recovery for both surgeries will be long and frustrating, but I’ve got this!!

I’ll update along the way.

I will also still be available for any travel quotes etc. I can work from anywhere and it’ll keep my mind active. So get those requests for quotes in please! Also I’m still able to sign up new team members whilst I recover too.

Wow! I was so impressed with the Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel, Gothenburg. A big thank you to all the staff who made our stay so welcoming and comfortable.

The hotel was spotless and beautifully decorated, and our suite was fantastic—spacious with separate bath, toilet, and shower areas, each with sliding doors. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views from our room were stunning.

We spent three hours at the Wellness Centre on the top floor, soaking in the outdoor hot tub with amazing views over the water to the city, enjoying the sauna, relaxing in the whirlpools, and unwinding on the sunbeds. A delicious cocktail, the lovely ambiance, and tasteful décor made it even more relaxing.

Breakfast each morning was delicious, with a wide variety of hot and cold options, and dinner at the Cuckoo’s Nest was superb.

Just a short walk to the ferry terminal gets you to the free boat into the city in under ten minutes. All in all, we had an amazing stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
