Richard and I are back out fencing putting wire out in his homemade contraption but it needs a name lol. It pulls more in a day than a young farmer on a night out in Newquay we went through 12 balls of wire in less than 2 hours.
I got a clip of it in action it is like something off mad max mixed with chitty bang bang but it’s a beast at its job and saves us days of work!!

Richard’s idea of cooling off it’s so hot already! Apparently it’s an old farmer trick 🥴😉 or maybe that’s just his idea of washing his clothes 🙈

Today’s job - putting h the wire to the posts. This is actually a pretty intense job as the driver as you are watching every moving set of Richards homemade machine to check cogs are working, wire is running smoothly and that is doesn’t catch and spring back at Richy as it’s kept under tension. It’s like steering a cruise liner around rockpools quite honestly! It was my first time today so no videos as had to very much concentrate! Richy and I have been putting fencing around 12 fields in a section of ground and we now have water troughs in each field. Gates will be hung next and hey presto we have 12 nice fields that we can securely move cattle around as we graze it this summer. Historically it has been run as one big section with a stream for water which worked fine but now that we are grazing out all year we need to work and rest fields and this allows for that. It was a massive undertaking but nearly there!

Our park is officially open! We passed our inspection and are really happy with the outcome! Max has thoroughly tested it and Richard couldn’t resist a sit in the John Deere lol!!
On to the next project now…. Bringing animals to the new field where the trees are planted and the benches beyond holly and willow lodge!! This is a summer project so won’t be instant as the farm is super busy - we are calling the new field The paddock so it clearly needs goats and a pig if I can smuggle it past Richard! chicken enclosure coming too this year! So much to do! In the meantime enjoy our play park for 10years and under and the paddock for space and a picnic with an endless view for everyone!

Richard and I decided it’s time we had a day off on a Sunday and we would do a bit of gardening to get ready for bbq season which has instantly arrived here in Cornwall!
I dusted off my gardening tools and rich…….fired up the tractor and came down with an industrial length of chain when I asked him to remove the heathers and a few overgrown shrubs. I guess when he uses a shovel daily on the farm a day off means a day off from using it 🙈

Let’s see if I can keep these flowers going until get at least one bbq 🥴

It’s a big week for us here. Richard has been working incredibly hard to get the new play park ready for our official rospa inspection and I’ve been sorting signage now the painting is all done and I’ve got some work to do in the decorating front but fingers crossed we can open it imminently!
It is designed for younger children age 10 and under and will require supervision at all times due to children’s ages.
It’s phase one of a lot of new exciting things coming to tregullon holidays!
We also welcome two new chickens who will be up site in their chicken run they don’t have names yet they will be near the carpark.
We also have a field opened for free play but no ball games due to willow and holly lodge being nearby. Benches there and we will be expanding this area this year too with more facilities so watch this space.
