I think a lot of people are craving peace more than adventure right now.

Not rushed itineraries.
Not overstimulation.
Not needing a holiday after the holiday.

Just:
• quiet mornings
• slower days
• fresh air
• calm surroundings
• time together without rushing

The older I get, the more I value destinations that leave you feeling rested instead of exhausted.

And honestly, peace and quiet has become one of the biggest luxuries there is.

Slow travel is having a moment — think overnight ferries, scenic train journeys, no baggage stress and arriving right in the heart of somewhere beautiful.

From canal-side cities in the Netherlands to wine regions in France and beach towns in northern Spain… Europe without the airport chaos sounds pretty dreamy to me.

• sitting by a pool doing absolutely nothing

Somewhere along the way, holidays became pressure.
Pressure to make every day magical.
Pressure to justify the money.
Pressure to create “core memories” every waking second.

But exhausted parents aren’t making memories either.

I think a lot of parents need permission to stop performing on holiday.

Not every day needs:

constant entertainment

This week has been FULL!

Work, family life, all the logistics, something had to give.

One thing I’ve learnt recently is that trying to do everything yourself isn’t always the answer. Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is delegate the bits that drain your time and energy.

For me this week, that looked like handing over meal planning and food shopping to a box.
No last-minute supermarket trips. No standing staring into the fridge after a long day wondering what to cook. Just ingredients ready to go and one less thing taking up headspace.

Not glamorous. Not revolutionary.
But a small change that’s made a busy week feel a little lighter.
