A day of travel inspiration, learning and luxury!

Today I headed to Carnival House in Southampton for a brilliant day of training, discovering more about Seabourn and Holland America Line (part of the Carnival family of cruise brands).

From the world of ultra-luxury cruising with Seabourn to the elegant, destination-focused experiences offered by Holland America Line, it was a fantastic opportunity to explore what makes each cruise line special and the different experiences they can offer travellers.

As an independent travel advisor, I’m always looking to expand my knowledge, build relationships and discover new ways to find the right holiday for my clients.

A walk with my two favourite people.
No plans. No rushing. Just being together.

Sometimes the best moments aren’t the big adventures or the far-flung places.

They’re the ordinary Sundays, the muddy shoes, the conversations, the laughter and the shadows walking alongside you.

The world will always be waiting to be explored.

But today, I’m quite happy right here.

Why I’d book a walking tour in Krakow again… and why you might want one on your next city break.

I usually LOVE exploring a city on my own.

Walking without a plan, finding pretty streets, stopping for coffee, discovering somewhere completely by accident… and obviously doing it with friends or family makes it even better.

But sometimes, in some places, a walking tour is just that much better.

And Krakow was definitely one of those places.

As part of my trip, I joined a walking tour through the Jewish Old Quarter and I was completely blown away.

The history.
The stories.
The architecture.

But what really made it was our guide.

Having someone who could explain what we were seeing, tell the stories behind the buildings and bring the history to life made the whole experience feel so much more meaningful.

Because you aren't just looking at a building.

You're understanding it.

You aren't just walking down a street.

You're hearing the stories that happened there.

And suddenly, a place you've never been before feels a little more connected.

It reminded me why I love adding experiences to the trips I create for my clients.

Because a city break doesn't have to be just flights + hotel + a list of things to see.

It can be a brilliant local guide, a food tour, a hidden gem, a day trip, a special experience or something completely unique to you.

Those are often the things you remember.

Sometimes, all you need is a change of scenery.

A new place, a different view, a little time away from the everyday.

Travel has a funny way of reminding us just how much there is out there to see, experience and enjoy.

And just like that, ITQ 2026 is done.

What a few days.

I’ll be honest, travelling to Kraków on my own for the first time in years definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone — but I’m so glad I did it.

Because ITQ isn’t just a few days away with other travel agents.

It’s an investment in my business, my knowledge and, most importantly, in my clients!

Over the last few days I’ve:

✈️ Met so many incredible travel suppliers and partners
🌍 Discovered new destinations, hotels, cruises and experiences
📚 Learned SO much about what’s changing in travel
💡 Picked up ideas and knowledge I can bring straight back to my clients
🤝 Connected with other agents who are just as passionate about creating amazing holidays
🚀 Been reminded why continuing to learn and grow matters so much

One of my favourite things about being an independent travel agent is that I never want to stop learning.

The more I know, the better I can research, advise, problem-solve and create genuinely bespoke trips for the people who trust me with their holidays.

And I came home with a notebook FULL of ideas, a head full of inspiration and a very long list of things I want to explore further.

So yes… there was plenty of fun, food, exploring Kraków and the odd glass of w**e too.

But ultimately, this trip was about coming home even better at my job.

And I can’t wait to put everything I’ve learned into practice.
