Spending this Vegas trip really getting under the skin of the city… and I am not doing it alone. 🎲🍸

I am also meeting up with another Travel Counsellor while I am here 😍

I actually helped put together their Vegas itinerary before this trip and recommended a room change to give them a much better overall experience: newer room, better view, better location within the hotel and a more “wow” factor for their stay. Seeing it all in real life and hearing their feedback is priceless.

This is one of the things I love most about what I do:
🤝 Collaborating with other TCs who are just as detail‑obsessed
🏨 Comparing notes on hotels, room types and locations
💬 Sharing honest opinions on what is worth the money and what is not

…it means I am constantly refining my advice so that when you ask me about Vegas, I can recommend not just the right hotel, but the right room type and overall experience for you.

If you are thinking about Vegas and want that level of detail on your side, pop your questions in the comments or send me a message while I am here.

Let’s talk Vegas hotels… 🎲🏨

On this trip I am deliberately mixing things up and staying in three very different properties so I can compare them properly for my clients:

💰 First up: Excalibur – budget friendly
I am staying in one of their remodelled rooms as we haven't stayed here for a few years now, which should give a much fresher feel than the older ones without blowing the budget. It is a great way to get a “feet on the Strip” base if you want to spend more of your money on experiences, food and shows rather than the room.

✨ Then: Fontainebleau – suite stay
Next stop is a suite at Fontainebleau thanks to some comped nights. I will be paying close attention to what you really get for that level of room: space, views, service and how the overall vibe compares with the rest of the Strip as I have never stayed at this hotel before so looking forward to seeing and experiencing it all

🌆 Finally: The Cosmopolitan – my favourite
I am finishing at my favourite, The Cosmopolitan, in a fountain view studio room. For me, this is one of those “only in Vegas” rooms: watching the Bellagio fountains from your balcony never gets old and it is a brilliant option if you want a stylish, central base as well as the Boulevard Pool overlooking the strip!

Across all three I’ll be comparing:
✔ Room size and comfort
✔ Location and how easy it is to get around
✔ Pool, bars and food options
✔ The overall vibe and value for money

If you are curious which of these hotels might suit you and your budget best, pop your questions in the comments and I will try to answer them while I am here.

It is my birthday and our first full day in Las Vegas… I can’t think of a better place to celebrate! 🥂✨

Today is all about soaking up that Vegas energy: wandering the Strip, people‑watching, finding a great spot for a birthday cocktail and just enjoying the fact that I get to be here.

Of course, I can’t quite switch off the “travel planner” in me, so as I go I’ll be noticing:
👀 Which hotels feel best in real life, not just in photos
🍸 Bars and restaurants that actually live up to the hype
🚶 How easy it really is to get around
💡 Little tips I know will help my clients on their own trips

I’ll share some birthday‑day highlights in my Stories, so feel free to follow along if you fancy a bit of Vegas escapism today. And if a Vegas birthday (or un‑birthday!) is on your wish list, you know where I am…

Touchdown in Las Vegas! ✨

I am here for the next 14 days doing some serious on‑the‑ground “research” as your go‑to Vegas specialist 🎰

Over the next two weeks I’ll be:
🎲 Staying in three different hotels to compare what they are really like
🏊 Checking out pool vibes, locations and walking distances
🍸 Trying bars and restaurants across different budgets
🎟️ Scoping out shows, attractions and experiences that are genuinely worth it
🌄 Travelling to places outside of Las Vegas to experience life off strip

My goal is simple: when you ask me about Vegas, I do not have to guess. With over 20 years experience I can tell you from first‑hand experience which areas, hotels and experiences will suit you, and how to avoid expensive mistakes and disappointment.

I will be sharing honest tips, photos and videos in my Stories and Reels while I am here, so if Las Vegas is on your wish list for the next couple of years, make sure you are following along.

Comment VEGAS below if you would like me to send you a little round‑up of my top tips and hotel thoughts once I am back.

Have you ever clicked on a “great deal” online, only to discover the final price is very different from what you first saw?

This came up at my local networking group this week, and it is something I see all the time when people book holidays online.

An online headline price often does not clearly show:
• Checked baggage costs
• Seat selection fees
• Airport transfers
• Resort fees and local taxes
• Daily parking or security deposits at the hotel
• City taxes or environmental fees, payable locally only

By the time you have added everything you actually need, that “bargain” can look very different.

This is where using a travel expert really matters. When I put a trip together, I look at:
✔ What is and is not included in the price
✔ Whether you need bags, specific seats or transfers
✔ Any local charges you will have to pay when you get there
✔ How different options compare once all the real costs are included

My goal is that you are never surprised by extras at the airport or hotel reception.

If you are looking at an online deal and are not sure what is included, feel free to send it over and I can help you break it down. No pressure to book, no fee for asking: I only get paid when you actually travel.

If you would like more honest, expert holiday advice like this, follow my page and connect with me for future tips and inspiration.
