Our 17 members, men & women, are actively involved with local, national and international activities supporting those in need.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our recent events - that includes the Bradford on Avon Town Council, who worked with us to run the Dog Show, our wonderful sponsors and volunteers who aren't Lions but somehow came along to help anyway. If you think it looks like fun, you'd be right! There's always a welcome for new members, and if you are interested in finding out more, please talk to Phil Courage, [email protected].

The Lions run events like these as fundraisers, and most of the money raised goes back into our local community, through grants made to groups and projects. Everyone who buys a ticket, enters a class, or just buys a cup of tea at a stall is helping us to support these causes and we thank you.

Our next grants are really special to us. Every year we run the Outstanding Young Person Award. Anyone can nominate someone who is aged between 15 and 18 and the Lions vote on the Awards. Every year we are awed by what the young people in our community are doing and achieving. Watch this space for news on this year's winners - you won't be disappointed! If you want to nominate someone you can do it at any point in the year, and nominations will be held for the next round of awards. Just contact us via this page or our website for a form.

Last call for tickets for TONIGHT! This was a fantastic evening last year and this year will be just as good. We've got two award-winning choirs, one award-winning Musical Director, a beautiful venue and a bar. And a QR code on the poster to buy tickets if you haven't done so yet.

As always, most of the money raised at Lions events goes back to local community groups and projects. You can see who we've made grants to recently on our website www.boalions.org.uk. All of those grants are made possible by people who come along to our events, so you can have a great evening with a happy conscience!

Saturday’s Lions' Fun Dog Show and Autumn Fete was a great success, full of feel good factor and a great Bradford on Avon community event. We hope everyone who took apart with their four legged friends (and those with 2 legs only) enjoyed taking part in our "Paws for a Cause.

Recently Lions have donated to BoA Rugby Club under 14 Rugby tour, Kindwaves, Wiltshire Young Musicians, Winsley Acorn Pre School, BoA Dementia Action Alliance, St Laurence School, Wiltshire Scouts, Community First/Splash, BobCats Tour (BoA U13 Football).

We have extended closure of our on line raffle until wednesday 15th September because additional prizes have been added.

The total value of the prizes on offer is well over £1700 and plenty of tickets are still available……so with a good chance of winning, grab some raffle tickets at

We've barely brought the tent down on one event and we're (metaphorically) raising it for the next! Luckily, our next event, in the evening on Saturday 19th September, doesn't require a tent. We have a whole and beautiful roof above us in Holy Trinity Church and two choirs who will be raising it!

It's today! The Dog Show (run with the Town Council and with lots of support from wonderful sponsors) is happening this afternoon at Poulton Park. If it rains, we weren't organising that bit :)

Just look at the poster to see all the lovely stuff we've got going on.

Also, and very importantly, the raffle will be drawn during the show. Tickets can only be bought online (QR code on the poster) so make sure you get yours in plenty of time, because those prizes are amazing!

It's going to be a great afternoon doing what the Lions do best - raising money for local good causes and having a lot of fun while we do it! Please do come and join us.

The Dog Show is going to be a brilliant afternoon out for all the family - including the waggy members. As well as the dog show classes there are demos, stalls there's a lot of food, face painting - all we need is you to make it even better!

On Saturday 19th September the Lions are running another evening of fantastic music, courtesy of Mendip Male Voice Choir and the West Wilts Young Singers. Do grab your tickets now, and we'll start stocking the bar!

When you come to Fun Day, or to the Choirs, Crafts, Coffee and Cake day that we held on Saturday, or give to the Santa float, or support any of our fundraisers, you're enabling us to help people around us. Recently we gave £800 to 1st Holt Brownies to help them have an awesome PGL weekend in Weymouth, and here's a photo of a group of Brownies battling with a challenge to wrap a balloon of water so that when it was dropped from a height, it wouldn't break.!

The Lions are here to help local groups and local people and it's a joy to hear back after the money has been spent, and know that it's been so well-spent.
