I'm Angharad, a West Country-championing, neon-obsessed, gin-loving mama of three feral - sorry, 'spirited' kids. Here on this blog, I share my expert knowledge of Bristol, ideas for family days out and seasonal events to help you make the most of your time in the city. You'll also find recommendations for places to holiday with children in destinations around the world.

[Ad/PR Invite] A few more from Valley Fest. ☀️

Such a lovely, laid-back festival. The views are absolutely sensational, the food is really good, and we definitely lucked out with the weather (how I am still saying that after two months in the UK!?), although I think we all melted a little by Sunday!

Friday was definitely our sweet spot. It wasn’t too busy, the food queues were manageable, the music was chilled, and the temperature dry and balmy. I also loved the festival’s sustainable ethos.

If I’m being really picky, I’d have loved a few more free activities for the kids so it didn’t feel like I was constantly reaching for my wallet. And my Millennial heart is still a bit gutted Cast (my first CD back in 1995!) played on the Sunday night. If they’d been on Saturday, I might have stood a chance of seeing them!

If you’d like dates for more Somerset festivals, check the blog over on Down Somerset Way!

(Ad) Having started May Half Term at Le Castellas, we finished the week at Le Sérignan Plage, another Eurocamp parc just a 40-minute drive down the coast near Béziers.

Two Eurocamp parcs, same coastline, totally different vibes - it was brilliant to switch things up and experience both!

(ad) If your perfect family holiday formula involves a beach on the doorstep, an excellent waterpark, adventuring by bike and a glass of wine on the sand at sunset, put Le Castellas near Sète on your radar immediately. ☀️👇

Located on a spectacular narrow spit of land in the South of France, Le Castellas is firmly on our list of favourite holidays. From exploring the canals of Sète by boat and eating fresh-as-they-come local moules to our nightly ritual of wine picnics while the kids played on the sand, we loved our time here.

👉 SAVE this for summer holiday planning or send to a friend in need of inspo!
