Where the wildlife is spectacular—and the backdrop is just as extraordinary. 📸

Iceland is a dream destination for wildlife lovers and photographers, bringing together fascinating species with some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth.

Along its rugged cliffs, thousands of puffins gather during the summer months. Out at sea, whales breach against a backdrop of mountains and sweeping fjords, while seals rest along wild stretches of coastline. Venture further into Iceland's quieter landscapes and you might encounter reindeer roaming the east or catch a glimpse of the elusive Arctic fox.

Maldives weather, month by month 🏝️☀️

Spoiler: it's warm pretty much ALL year. 😍

The biggest difference between the seasons isn't the temperature – it's the rain.

☀️ January–March = generally the driest months, with plenty of sunshine and those picture-perfect blue skies.

🌴 May–November = the wetter season, when tropical showers become more frequent – but that doesn't mean non-stop rain. There's still plenty of sunshine in between.

And with temperatures hovering around 30°C throughout the year, there really isn't a bad time for swapping grey skies for an overwater villa. 👀

Conditions can vary between the northern and southern atolls, so exactly where you're staying matters too.

Sri Lanka is small enough to drive across in a day — but its weather splits the island in two.

The west and south coasts (think Bentota, Galle, Mirissa) have their dry, sunny season from December to March, while the Yala monsoon brings rain from around May to September.

The east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay, Passikudah) runs almost the opposite pattern — dry and sunny roughly April to September, with the Maha monsoon bringing rain from October to January.

So when one side of the island is grey, the other is often glorious — meaning Sri Lanka is genuinely a year-round beach destination, as long as you know which coast to book.

Thailand's east and west coasts don't share a weather calendar — because they're hit by different monsoons at different times.

The Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi) has its rainy season roughly May to October, with the best weather from November to April.
The Gulf coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) runs almost opposite — its wettest months are typically October to December, while the rest of the year stays largely dry.

So if one coast is having a soggy month, the other is often glorious — which means "when's the best time to visit Thailand?" doesn't really have one answer. It depends which coast (or region) you're heading to.

Planning a holiday to Bali?

Here's a simple month-by-month guide to average temperatures and rainfall to help you decide when to visit.

Unlike many destinations, Bali stays warm throughout the year, with daytime temperatures hovering around 28–31°C. The main seasonal difference is rainfall rather than temperature.

☀️ Dry season (May–September) – generally the best time for beach holidays, island hopping and outdoor adventures.

🌿 Wet season (October–April) – expect warmer, more humid conditions with tropical showers, but also greener scenery and fewer crowds.

These figures are a useful guide, but weather does vary across the island. Coastal areas are generally warmer and drier, while inland destinations such as Ubud and the surrounding highlands are often cooler and wetter.
