Counting down the days... 26 to go until we set sail on the Disney Dream! ✨🚢

(I’ve been told off for counting down too enthusiastically, the day after we get back it’s straight into back-to-school mode 😅)

We’re staying in a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, so we’re all together in one cabin (three nights should be fine but ask me on the 1st September).

Not every week goes to plan, and this week was proof of that. A transfer let a client down with no apology, and a cruise client messaged me when the emergency lighting came on, something I’d genuinely never dealt with before. Both sorted, both clients happy, because that’s the job.
And in between it all, beautiful feedback from a family who’d just had their first holiday together, plus two new bookings for next year already in the diary.
So no, not my smoothest week for clients. But every single time, they knew I had it handled. That’s what booking with me actually means, not that things never go wrong, but that you’re never on your own when they do.

Yesterday we spent Father’s Day on board P&O Arvia as part of a FAM trip and honestly, I didn’t expect to come home feeling quite so wistful about not sailing away with everyone else. 🚢

We’ve been on Arvia before so we knew we were in for a good day but sometimes you forget just how much you love something until you’re back in the middle of it.
Seth and I played basketball and football on the sports court. Mini golf. Silent disco (yes, really 😂). Swimming in the SkyDome in 30 degree sunshine. Eli at the splash pad. Ice cream. Lunch. Blue skies the whole time.
The thing that stays with me though is Eli hugging one of the crew. Completely unprompted. That tells you everything about how the team on board treat little ones.

And we parked right next to the ship and walked straight on, no stress, no faff.

If you’ve been thinking about a cruise especially with young children this is genuinely one of the best family experiences I can recommend. Everything is right there. Nothing is a trek. The boys were entertained from the moment we stepped on board to the moment we left.

I wish we were sailing to Spain. 🇪🇸☀️
