The holiday details I will always overthink for you…
There’s a big difference between booking a holiday that looks good on paper and designing one that actually works beautifully when you’re there.
And often, it comes down to the details you might never even realise have been considered.

Is the gorgeous hotel actually in the right location?
Is that cheaper flight worth losing half a day of your holiday for?
Does the room category really work for your family?
Are we trying to squeeze too many stops into the itinerary?
These are examples of all the things I will happily overthink.

I'll look at the flights, hotel locations, room layouts, transfers, journey times and overall pace. I'll think about local holidays, wildlife seasons and what’s happening while you're actually there. I'll work out which experiences are worth prioritising and where we should deliberately leave some space.

Then there are the tiny details.
The train seats with the better view. Luggage forwarding. Restaurant reservations. Check-in logistics. Whether that connection is technically possible but something I'd never actually recommend.
Because it should feel effortless when you're actually travelling.

The right hotels. The right route. The right pace. And all those little details taken care of.
That's the difference between booking a holiday and having one designed around you.

There’s no such thing as one perfect Sri Lanka itinerary 🇱🇰✨

For such a relatively small island, Sri Lanka packs in an extraordinary amount – ancient cities, tea-covered hills, incredible wildlife, beautiful beaches, fantastic food and some seriously special places to stay.
The secret is choosing the right route for the way you like to travel.

💕 Couples? Think tea country, boutique hotels, historic Galle and the south coast.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Travelling as a family? Sigiriya, Kandy and Ella combine brilliantly with some well-earned beach time.
🥾 Want something more active? Head into the Knuckles Mountains before hiking, safari and surfing your way south.
🐘 Wildlife the priority? Sri Lanka is one of Asia’s most exciting wildlife destinations, with elephants, leopards, sloth bears, whales and so much more.
👀 Prefer somewhere a little less discovered? Northern and eastern Sri Lanka open up a completely different side of the country.
And if you want to finish your adventure by doing absolutely nothing at all? Sri Lanka + the Maldives is a VERY difficult combination to beat… 🏝️

One of the biggest misconceptions about solo travel is that it's only for backpackers. In reality, solo holidays can look however you want them to. Whether that's a luxury escape, an epic road trip, a foodie adventure, a guided river cruise or simply taking some well-deserved time for yourself.

The key isn't choosing the most popular destination, it's choosing one that matches your travel style.

Everyone talks about where to go... but far fewer people think about when to go.
And yet, choosing the right time to travel can completely transform your holiday.

This is why I recommend shoulder season so often. You can often enjoy fewer crowds, better value, more hotel availability and beautiful weather, all without compromising on the experience.

Whether it's Italy during the September harvest, Japan's spectacular autumn colours, Namibia's incredible wildlife viewing, Thailand as the dry season begins or the Canadian Rockies during golden larch season, sometimes a simple change of timing is all it takes to elevate a trip from good to unforgettable.

Some of the best hotels in the world aren't the ones you'll see all over social media.
They're tucked away in remote national parks, hidden deep in the rainforest, perched above mountain valleys or found on islands that are still mostly a secret.

They're the places that become the highlight of the trip.
The kind of hotels clients still mention years later.

Whether it's waking up amongst the granite boulders of Tanzania's Ruaha National Park, watching wildlife in the Brazilian Amazon, overlooking Bhutan's breathtaking Phobjikha Valley or escaping to one of Indonesia's most celebrated beach resorts, these are the stays that completely change how you experience a destination.

Planning your first trip to South Africa but not sure where to start? 🇿🇦

One of the biggest mistakes I see is trying to fit too much into one trip. South Africa is an incredibly diverse country, and spending less time travelling between places means more time actually enjoying them.
This is the two-week itinerary I'd recommend for most first-time visitors.

🏙️ Cape Town for iconic landmarks, incredible food and stunning coastal scenery.
🍷 The Cape Winelands for world-class wine, boutique hotels and spectacular mountain views.
🌊 Hermanus for dramatic coastline, charming seaside atmosphere and whale watching (in season).
🚗 The Garden Route for beautiful beaches, forests, wildlife and one of the world's most scenic road trips.
🦁 An Eastern Cape safari to finish with unforgettable game drives and the chance to spot the Big Five in a malaria-free reserve.

Of course, there isn't one "perfect" South Africa itinerary. The best route depends on the time of year, your budget, whether you're travelling as a couple or family, and the experiences that matter most to you.
But if you're visiting South Africa for the very first time, this is a fantastic place to start.
