🌴 A LITTLE SEPTEMBER HEADS-UP! ✈️🇨🇷

September is always a crazy busy month for me, with the kids going back to school my enquiries really starting to increase, alongside lots of travel industry events and training.

And this year, I have something VERY exciting happening…

🇨🇷 I’M OFF TO COSTA RICA! 🌴

I’ve been selected by one of our business partners to visit Costa Rica, where I’ll be meeting the Tourism Board, suppliers and hoteliers and learning all about this incredible destination.

It’s somewhere I’ve never been before, so I cannot wait! 🥰

I’ll be working right up until I leave on 20th September, including full days next week and some longer hours.

I’ve just returned from the most amazing four-night trip to Ibiza and honestly… what an absolute gem it was! 💙

Ibiza is so much more than the party island it’s often known for. We experienced a much more chilled, relaxed and authentic side of Ibiza and it was absolutely perfect for a short break.

✈️ AND GETTING THERE COULDN’T HAVE BEEN EASIER!

We flew from Southend Airport, which is literally just down the road from us, and it really was easy peasy!
The airport was such a breeze and with a flight time of just around 2 hours, we were in Ibiza before we knew it.

A huge bonus — the transfer from Ibiza Airport to the hotel was only around 10 minutes! 🙌

So when you put it all together — an easy airport on our doorstep, a short 2-hour flight and just a 10-minute transfer at the other end — you really couldn’t ask for an easier journey.

It makes Ibiza such a fantastic option for a 4-night getaway or short break, without feeling like you’ve spent half your holiday travelling. To be honest, after four nights I definitely could have stayed much longer! 😂

🏨 THE HOTEL & LOCATION

One of the main reasons we chose our hotel was the location — and it absolutely did not disappoint.

It’s technically in Playa d’en Bossa, but right on the edge and actually much closer to Ibiza Town. This meant we had the best of both worlds — a wonderfully peaceful setting with that lovely old Ibiza feel, but with everything within easy reach.

The views were just incredible. 🌊

Waking up in the morning and looking out over the sea towards Ibiza Old Town was pretty specia and the views in the evening were just as beautiful.

There were numerous restaurants within walking distance and you could easily walk into Ibiza Town too.

🚤 One of my favourite things was the water taxi jetty right outside the hotel. For just €10, you could hop on the boat and head around to Ibiza Town. It ran throughout the day from around 10am until 10pm and we actually used it one evening — such a lovely and easy way to get around!

👫 THE ATMOSPHERE

Just to clarify, the hotel is not adults-only, but there were very few children when we stayed.

I’d definitely describe it as an adult-focused hotel rather than a family hotel. The atmosphere was calm, relaxed and peaceful, so it would be particularly well suited to couples, friends or anyone looking for a more grown-up Ibiza experience without necessarily needing an adults-only property.

There was also an adults-only terrace with a hot tub and Bali beds, all included for guests with no additional charge. ☀️

🌊 FORMENTERA

We also took a boat trip over to Formentera, which was another highlight of the trip.

A gorgeous day spent out on the water, exploring and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Definitely something I’d recommend adding to an Ibiza itinerary.

🏨 THE HOTEL ITSELF

The hotel has actually been welcoming guests since 1974, making it one of the more established hotels on the island, but it was refurbished in 2019 to an extremely high standard.

It was incredibly comfortable, beautifully maintained and had such a relaxed atmosphere.

There were plenty of sun loungers, so no early-morning dash to reserve one! 😎☀️

Something I particularly loved was that there were no elevated room categories or separate experiences where some guests were treated differently. Everyone was treated exactly the same, which I really liked.

It’s also an independent, family-run hotel and I think you could really feel that in the atmosphere and the friendly service.

✨ MY VERDICT?

Ibiza is relaxing, beautiful, incredibly easy to get around and absolutely perfect for a short break.

A short flight, a 10-minute transfer, a gorgeous hotel, beautiful views, great restaurants, Ibiza Town on your doorstep and the option to explore further afield…

What’s not to love? 💙

If you’re looking for Ibiza but don’t necessarily want the party scene, there is a whole other side of the island waiting to be discovered.

Hope you all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend! 😎

I was very lucky to spend an wonderful extended bank holiday weekend in Ibiza and a reminder I am back in the office tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone that has waited for my return, I have had lots of emails and messages over the weekend and I will do my very best to get back to everyone this week. I really appreciate your patience 😊

I am looking forward to getting stuck into work ahead of my trip to Costa Rica at the end of September, more on this to come but it is a work trip and I am so excited as it is a destination I have yet to experience and I can’t wait to learn about this amazing place! 🤩

🌴 JUST A LITTLE HEADS UP… I’M ON ANNUAL LEAVE! ✈️

After what has been an extremely busy August, I’m taking some much-needed personal annual leave and will be out of the office until Thursday 3rd September.

I’ll be in the office tomorrow morning just to tie up a few loose ends but after that I’m officially switching off! 🙌🏼
I won’t be working on any further quotes until I’m back next week.

August has been a BIG month. Lots of lovely bookings, exciting itineraries and new enquiries but also extremely long hours, lots of late nights and plenty of issues to deal with behind the scenes, not to mention new computer systems.

I don’t often share the difficult side of being a travel agent because you naturally see the holidays, the bookings and the exciting parts on social media but there can be a lot that goes on behind the scenes and the business side and sometimes it can be challenging!

That said, I’m incredibly grateful to every single person who has trusted me with their holidays ❤️

❄️ A day discovering Antarctica… 🌍🐧

Today I’ve spent the day learning, exploring and discovering more about one of the most fascinating places on Earth — Antarctica. It is somewhere I have always been curious about and honestly, my interest in it has just grown even more! 🧊🤍

One thing to know is that an Antarctic expedition is nothing like a traditional cruise.

This is an exploration adventure. 🚢❄️

It’s about getting out there and experiencing the destination, stepping ashore, seeing incredible landscapes and wildlife, learning from experts, understanding the history and science and gaining a completely different perspective on our wonderful planet.

The ships themselves are fascinating too. Smaller expedition vessels are designed to get you much closer to the action, with experiences such as Zodiac trips, shore landings, wildlife spotting, the polar plunge (would you be brave enough? 🥶) lectures and opportunities to explore places that simply aren’t accessible on a conventional cruise.

The more I learn, the more I can see why Antarctica is such a bucket-list adventure. 🌎✨
