Sweet elderly Skye has just had another holiday here in The Folly Cottage and of course came with her huge family of 7 other Scottish Terriers and such lovely humans - mum & dad - did the disinfectant thing so the equines could have treats last night - all guests happy to dip their footwear in disinfectant to see the equines, still having to be mindful of equine influenza

Shadow won't be laughing - need to tell him no treats from guests for a while as there are increased cases of Equine Flu in Ceredigion - we have Willow a very elderly pony and Ruthie an elderly mini shetland plus a few of the donkeys are elderly and in any event irrespective of their ages we do not want any of them to be poorly so for the time being access to the ponies and donkeys has been stopped, Equine Flu is highly contagious, it can be - so they say - transferred from walking near infected equines, on footwear and clothing etc etc and with the wild ponies on coastal routes all be it limited risk we will not put our equines at the smallest of risks - they are landlocked away from any bridle-paths, footpaths and humans other than ourselves and we are only wearing footwear worn on site to feed our lot - yup totally paranoid as we are with continuing our covid cleaning regime in the holiday lets but we do all we can to keep our animals and also human guests as safe as we can from catching bugs and flu and whatever else is out there threatening to make you feel rough - you can still feed the goats and sheep, they are away from the equines - and they would be quite annoyed if you didn't!!
