Six years with Travel Counsellors! Running my own travel business has been an incredible journey. Today, I reflect on where I started and where I am now. I'm in a much better space than at any time in my career in travel. There have been moments where I questioned my choices, but I take them as lessons for self-improvement.

I owe a huge thank you to my family, friends, the fantastic team at our Manchester head office, our CEO who steered us through the toughest of conditions during the pandemic, and our fantastic suppliers across the globe. Last but not least, thank you to my customers. Without your support, I wouldn't be where I am today with this business.

For some of us, the winter snow that accompanies December spells skiing in the Alps. But an option further afield might be what the avid skier who is looking for something different, Japan has some great slopes and is well worth the trip if anything to get the cultural side of things in as well. A country in general that is not to be missed. Costa Rica provides some great winter sun while Germany with its many Christmas markets provides a great option for those looking for something more short haul.
