I've been lucky enough to visit several countries over the years, and every holiday has given me memories I'll treasure forever.
The funny thing is, when people ask about my favourite trips, it's rarely the destination that comes to mind first. It's the people, the moments, and the memories that stay with you long after you've unpacked your suitcase.
For me, this holiday will always be one of the most memorable.
Back in October 2019, we headed to Ibiza to celebrate my brother's 16th birthday. Now, booking Ibiza in October might not have been our wisest decision because we definitely got more rain than sunshine! We experienced some incredible storms, spent plenty of time dodging downpours, and probably didn't get the bronzed holiday glow we'd imagined.
But honestly? I wouldn't change a thing.
This was our first sibling holiday and, if we're being realistic, probably our only one. Me, my brother, my sister, and my brother-in-law (who absolutely counts as a sibling at this point!).
What I remember most isn't the weather.
It's the laughter.
The kind of laughter that leaves your stomach hurting. The kind where you can't breathe, your mascara is running, and you're desperately trying not to wee yourself. The kind of laughter that still makes you smile years later when someone brings up an inside joke.
We spent our days on boat trips, explored the beautiful island of Formentera, enjoyed far too much fancy food, sipped plenty of cocktails, and somehow managed to have the best time despite the weather trying its hardest to stop us.
And of course, there was the nightly mission of sneaking across balconies so we didn't wake the boys up. Looking back now, it probably wasn't our smartest idea... but it definitely makes for one of my favourite memories.
As we've all got older, life has become busier. Jobs, relationships, responsibilities, children... finding quality time together isn't always easy. That's why this trip means so much to me.
It wasn't perfect weather.
It wasn't a luxury once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
But it was one of those rare moments where life slowed down, and we simply enjoyed being together.
And sometimes, those are the holidays that end up meaning the most. ❤️
What's one holiday memory you'll never forget?
