𝗜𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 2021, 𝗨𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲.

The designation recognises the important contribution Wales made to the Industrial Revolution.

Included within the designated landscape are Ogwen Valley, Nantlle Valley, Dinorwig, Cwm Pennant, Ffestiniog and Abergynolwyn. The slate culture is deeply rooted in north Wales, so it’s definitely worth visiting the National Slate Museum in Llanberis to know more about the rich history in this part of the world! 🌄

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱? 🦘

At Zip World Llechwedd, you can do just that! With a series of huge trampolines inside a vast underground chamber, you can bounce to your heart's content. It’s called Bounce Below. Three trampolines, one above the other, in a space that’s like an alien cathedral, all connected with slides and ladders, and lit by psychedelic, multi-coloured lights.

It might sound as unfathomable as finding out your long-lost father is actually Darth Vader, but, believe it or not, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀.

The Millennium Falcon, the iconic star ship piloted by Han Solo in the Star Wars universe, was built in a dockyard in Pembrokeshire in West Wales. Well, at least the life-size film prop was.

Now a new permanent exhibition in the town tells the story of the ambitious build, dubbed ‘the worst-kept secret in Pembroke Dock’, featuring photographs, video footage and first-hand accounts delving into the history of the tight-lipped project that has written Wales into the Star Wars legacy 🌌

𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵! 👻

Why not take a spooky stroll around the grounds of Plas Mawr in North Wales or, if you dare, try the Ghost Walk in Tenby or Llancaiach Fawr? The beach side family favourite won't seem so inviting after you've finished! 🎃

𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗿𝘆𝗿𝗶'𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗵𝘆𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.

It is surrounded by wooded and open parkland, and a walled garden that pre-dates the Castle and provides a calm haven for relaxation! It's perfect for a chilly autumn stroll, where you'll be treated to the golden and red glows that blanket our country this time of year! 🍂

𝗔𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, the Rheidol Railway are not only a fantastic, traditional foray into Wales' history, but they are doing loads to protect it too! 🚞

Since opening in 1902, millions have enjoyed the scenic trip through the ancient woodlands to Devil’s Bridge, home of the famous waterfalls nestled in the beautiful Cambrian Mountains. Why not make yourself one of them? The views of the Cambrian in autumn are truly a sight to behold!

For this week's , we were treated to an awesome photo of some surfers heading our to brave the waves at Morfa Bychan (known locally as Black Rock Sands) near Porthmadog!

This long beach has fairly flat water in light winds and is ideal for beginners during these conditions. However, there is a slight rip tide present here and when the wind picks up, so does the swell. In stronger winds with big waves, this location is excellent for more experienced wave sailors. 𝗦𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀! 🏄

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝘆𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 and has been an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for over 40 years. Tucked away on the border between Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, it’s a wonderful place to visit in any season! Though autumn is when it truly begins to shine! 🍂

But, there’s more to this region than good looks. The Wye is the first river in the UK to be designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along its entire length, from its source on the slopes of the Plynlimon in Powys to its mouth at Chepstow. It’s also a European Special Area of Conservation (SAC).

Its lush, leafy valley is the perfect place for walking, cycling, horse riding, rock climbing, caving, canoeing and kayaking!

In Pembrokeshire, the unspoilt coastline provides some of the best places in the UK to spot grey seals, with over 5,000 Atlantic grey seal pups born from September to December every year!

The waters off the Pembrokeshire coast are also protected, giving walkers the chance to spot basking sharks, blue whales, turtles and Risso dolphins! 🐬
