Found time to do a personal drawing before Christmas of Logan watching TV with his Grandpa Ken.
Polychromos, Luminance and Prisma white with pan pastel background on brown Pastelmat. 24 x 30cms. Approx 13hrs.

This is a commission for Sean & Helen Robinson of their very much loved dog Chelsea, who sadly passed away this month. This was a challenge as the photo which was really charming was quite low resolution so there wasn't much fur detail, and it had been made sepia which Sean wanted to keep in the drawing, and it was quite hard to capture the limited palate of the sepia photo.
I drew this twice in the end, the first attempt (last image at the end of the photos) just lacked something, and I felt it hadn't captured Chelsea's personality. But I'm very happy with the second and final version, especially around the eyes. Sean and Helen loved the finished portrait.

Drawing of my grandson Logan. On Pastelmatt using Polychromos pencils. Took around 14 hours to complete.

This drawing is approx 30cm x 24cm and this is the first time I've used these pencils which I got recently as a present, and the first time I've used this board. It took approx 15 hours from start to finish. Thanks to Nigel for the original photo of his cat.
