Maybe our short break in Menorca is for you? We have spaces available 13th - 17th October and team member Natalie tested the ride for you in the spring and took these beautiful photos.

This is a stay in a rural 4* hotel with riding along the Cami de Cavalls route which runs around the perimeter of the island. Riding is mostly at a walk but is ideal for those who enjoy spectacular coastal views, sunshine and some interesting terrain, as the route is quite rocky in places. The horses are very sure-footed.

At the end of the trip you also have the chance for a dressage lesson on a black Menorcan stallion, including the chance to do their famous move known as the ‘bot’, essentially a walk on their hind legs!

We’re sure that some of you have been following the incredible Mongol Derby this year - the winners of this epic 1000km race have just crossed the finish line!

There are three ‘Far and Riders’ competing this year and I’ve been following along and thinking of my own amazing riding experience in Mongolia, a country with a horse culture like no other. Natalie from our team has also been out there to ride.

We still have some gaps on riding holidays there for this year - let us know if you’d like more info!

Join team member Cathy in Spain!

We've just organised for Cathy from Far and Ride to join the Wild Coast Pirates Trail in the north of Spain from 28th September - 4th October (6 nights). There are still some saddles available on this date if anyone would like to join her - this is a great option for solo travellers especially.

Feeling adventurous?

The T**h Villages ride in Georgia is open for bookings for 21st September - 1st October. £1800 GBP / €2080 EUR / $2440 USD per person for the 10 night programme.

You need to be ready for basic accommodations, epic scenery, steep terrain and some hiking and leading. It's not for comfort-seekers but for the wild ones among you!

For the second year in a row we are sponsoring this fantastic competition run by Highveld Horse Care Unit in South Africa. This beautiful boy, Timo, is the entry we have sponsored!

Some info about the competition:

"This competition, held in the rural communities we work in, showcases working cart equines and their dedicated owners, who compete for the most votes. The competition has achieved remarkable success, not only raising awareness that many working equines are well-cared for, but also fostering a positive impact within the communities. This initiative has attracted support from corporates and supporters who share our commitment to enhancing equine welfare through our Outreach Programme.

Commencing on 1 July, a sponsored photo will be shown every evening at 6 pm on social media. Following the showcase of 20 working equines, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite horse online. Each vote is a donation of R200, with R100 going to the horse's owner and R100 to the Unit.

While the competition will crown a winner based on votes received, every participant will receive R100 from their respective votes. Furthermore, our generous sponsors have kindly donated items and funds to recognize the achievements of all competitors.
This competition is truly worth supporting, as it highlights the dedication of equine owners in less fortunate rural areas."

The 'History at a Canter' ride in Segovia, Spain, is open and confirmed for 19 - 26 October.

This is a very comfortable ride with a high level of accommodation and meals throughout plus, most importantly, some great and sporty riding!

Ride Turkey's spectacular Lycian Way!

Riders wanted for western riding in Italy! 🇮🇹

The Tratturi Altomolise Trail in Italy is open for booking from 30th August - 5th September - this 6 night riding programme costs just €1100 EUR / £935 GBP / $1260 USD per person including:

- transfers from and to the local train station
- 6 nights of shared room accommodation (3 at the home ranch, 3 out on the trail)
- all meals
- wine and beer with lunches and dinners
- 5 days of scenic trail riding in western saddles

Riders should be comfortable at walk, trot and canter (but it's OK if you've not ridden western before!) and ready to prepare their own horse after a demo. The rider weight limit is 85kg / 187lbs.
