Tucked away in the Windrush Valley, Naunton is one of those villages that feels like a step back in time. With its Cotswold stone cottages, winding lanes and peaceful riverside setting, it’s a beautiful reminder of the Cotswolds’ rich rural past.

Naunton has a long history, with the village once known for its wool and textile industry, a legacy that helped shape so many of the villages we love across the Cotswolds.

Today, it’s wonderfully peaceful, making it the perfect place to slow down, wander and discover a quieter side of the Cotswolds.

Tucked away in the heart of the Cotswolds, Guiting Power is a beautiful village steeped in history, with it's quaint cottages, winding lanes and traditional village character.

The village has long been shaped by its rural roots, and many of the buildings you see today reflect the area’s rich agricultural and architectural heritage. Guiting Power is also home to a historic Baptist church, built in 1835 from local stone, with later additions including a school room dating from 1890.

Today, it remains one of those wonderfully peaceful Cotswold villages where you can slow down, explore the lanes and soak up centuries of character.

Tucked away in the North Cotswolds, Guiting Power is the kind of village that rewards those who venture a little further from the usual tourist trail.

With roots stretching back to Anglo-Saxon times, the village has a fascinating history, its name comes from the Saxon getinge, meaning “rushing”, while “Power” refers to the medieval le Poher family, former lords of the manor.

Today, it retains that wonderful sense of a real, lived-in Cotswold village, with the village green, traditional stone cottages and countryside walks, but without the crowds you'll find in some of the better-known Cotswold hotspots.

And although it's quieter, there's plenty to discover, from a browse at The Cotswold Guy, to lunch at The Farmers Arms or Hollow Bottom, and coffee or something homemade at The Old Post Office Guiting Power.

It's exactly the sort of place we love showing our guests! Beautiful, historic and a little bit off the beaten track.
