What another exciting mackerel trip! Lovely lady called Heather was reeling some mackerel in, then her rod buckled over and the drag started going off….Skipper Andy got everyone to reel in while he took over and…..WOW….what a fight, all on mackerel gear 👌 15 mins to get the fish in, a few photos and away she swam 🎣🙌 🦈

Wow what a cracking John Dory 🎣

The John Dory catches prey by stalking it, then extending its jaw forward in a tube-like structure to suck the fish in with some water. The water then flows out through the gills; the pre-maxillary bone, the only tooth-bearing bone in this fish, is used to grind the food.
The John Dory has a high laterally compressed body – its body is so thin it can hardly be seen from the front. The large eyes at the front of the head provide it with the binocular vision and depth perception it needs to catch prey. This eye spot also confuses prey, which can then be sucked into its mouth.[8]
It primarily eats smaller fish, especially schooling fish such as sardines. Occasionally it eats squid and cuttlefish.

What a lovely surprise 🐟 🎣

John Dory, St Pierre, or Peter's fish, refers to fish of the genus Zeus, especially Zeus faber, of widespread distribution. It is an edible demersal coastal marine fish with a laterally compressed olive-yellow body which has a large dark spot, and long spines on the dorsal fin. Its large eyes at the front of the head provide it with binocular vision and depth perception, which are important for predators. The John Dory's eye spot on the side of its body also confuses prey, which are scooped up in its large mouth.

We had one of the best encounters ever in our years of running boat trips last week when we were surrounded by a pod of Bottlenose dolphins 😮 They are rarely seen off our coast, especially in pods as large as this. Such a treat for our lucky passengers who were absolutely ecstatic, as was Skipper, Andy, who said it was actually very emotional to see such an incredible sight! 🐬❤️

The Princess Y80 is a 25.50 meter planing yacht with flybridge with 4 guest cabins and a draft of 1.80 meters which can reach speeds of up to 30 knots. WHAT.A.DAY! Yesterday could possibly be the best day we've ever had on Tiger Lilly 👌 A bumper day, gorgeous sun and a millpond sea. Dolphins everywhere practically all day, beautiful resting seals, huge numbers of gannets, ocean sunfish and barrel jellyfish. Topped off with an incredible Twilight Adventure at sunset with a brilliant group of people. Let's see what today brings....we have some availability from 12.15pm.
