Spring watch update at the ‘Anderson Nature Reserve’ 🥰🐦‍⬛🦊🐥🐦🌿🦔

Great tit chicks are getting bigger & stronger, I imagine they’ll fledge very soon, very nervous about this!! 🥹

Fred’s actually been helping guard them from other cats 😼 (We’ve been guarding Fred as well 😂)
…Today, he left his post briefly to save a baby blackbird from a sparrow hawk…True story!! 🐦‍⬛
Simon heard a kerfuffle in the garden, 3 black birds were trying to rescue a little fledgling chick from its talons... So Fred goes charging across the grass to help, closely followed by Simon thankfully 🙈

All the birds all scattered and the baby bod took refuge in our bar 🥰😂 Then, with a little direction finally escaped, flying unharmed up the garden… 😅☺️

I’m gutted, the only action the cameras picked up was Simon his hands and knees trying to find the chick after 😂 And another of the little fella shooting out of the bar door & up the garden 🥰

In other news we have a regular hedgehog visitor again, called Terry 🦔 and two foxes last week, Tom & Barbara, 🦊🦊

Big up to Fred, for being such a hero today, and not being lunch himself. 🥰😼

*Our fish pond brings all the creatures to the yard* 🎶 😅

Found this vintage, beautifully illustrated, Readers Digest, ‘Wild Flowers Of Britain’ book a while ago. Loving reading up on them all! I was today years old, when I found out buttercups are part of the Ranunculus family! Here’s a random, buttercup in disguise, I’d forgotten I’d planted earlier 😂🥰😍

Gorgeous day out at recently, Ben Dizzy’s old place. With my lovely, sprightly, nearly 90, Mum in Law 🥰😅 very funny lady 😂

What a beautiful peaceful place, lots of spring garden and house inspiration!
And a lovely 2nd hand book shop…In an actual beautiful room, instead of a cold, musty stable block 😅😍
Got my vintage gardening book fix 🙌🏻 MiL got her Royal, Prince Phil, biography bargain and we all got pasties for breakfast. 🌱❤️

Glorious Sunday morning and brunch at
yesterday 😍 So springy 🥹🌿🌱🌸

As well as delicious homemade cakes and food in the cafe 😍 and the sweetest dogs🐕🥹 This friendly, family run nursery has been the most incredible…more ancient than me… 130 year old, fan trained Peach Tree, in full blossom! 🍑🌸😍
Four generations of the Walker family have nurtured this beautiful peach tree, which it’s believed was planted in the Meynell Langley Walled Garden in the late 1880’s! Highly recommended a visit in the next few weeks, to see it in its full glory! 🌸🍑🌸

Hi folks, long time no posts (me this time not the PO) 🙈 Anyway…get a beer/wine/hot chocolate 🍻😉
I’m very excited to be fuelling my obsession (no, not Benson Boon 😏) …with plants 🌱🌻
… I’ve signed up for a ‘Seed to Vase’ cut flower growing course, with Ros and the gang , an 8 month, seedy grow along adventure 🌱🌿🌻

After years of delaying walks by admiring, snapping 📸 & being inspired by everyone else’s gardens & flowers… I thought it’s about time I learnt to grow my own flowers & plants!
And our garden reno is about ready for some beautiful, eco, animal friendly, uplifting planting. (If it stops bleddy raining) So good timing I think. 😆🙌🏻🌱🌻
The course is very inspiring, relaxed, fun and supportive.🌻🌿 I’ve met some lovely, friendly folk on the course 🥰 …and I’ve already learnt, that while some little seeds look a lot like dried up, wriggly critters, they are in fact Calendula seeds and should be sown, not thrown to the birds…🙈
My little skin & blister Justine , will be ‘helping’ on the journey with some artistic input, silly questions & excellent photography skills…but not as good as mine 🎣
