💬 “Why do I need to fill in your link if I’ve already booked on Booking.com?”
A guest asked us this exact question this morning — and it’s a great opportunity to explain why we do things the way we do.
When someone books through Booking.com, we send a separate check-in link asking for:
• ✅ Photographic ID
• ✅ A fully refundable damage deposit
• ✅ Confirmation of our house rules
It’s not about being awkward — it’s about keeping everyone safe and protected.
We’ve been in this business long enough to know that without proper checks, things can go very wrong. Party-goers, squatters, and scammers can (and do) slip through the net — and the legal system is sadly not on the side of hosts when it comes to short-term lets.
📌 This is why we do our due diligence.
Every genuine guest understands this once we explain — and it actually reassures people that we take standards seriously.
💡 Here’s how to make life easier next time:
• If you’re booking again, Airbnb is a good choice. It allows us to review guests and hold a deposit via the platform.
• Even better — book directly on our website and you’ll save money (no third-party fees!) while still getting a secure and seamless stay. moneypennyhomes.co.uk
🧡 We’ve built this business on trust, clarity and high standards — and we’re so grateful to the amazing guests who value that too.
