Packing does not have to be stressful. A few smart habits can make getting ready for your holiday so much easier:

Start with a checklist
Write a simple list a few days before you go. It helps avoid over‑packing and those “I’m sure I forgot something” moments.

Think in outfits, not items
Build mix‑and‑match outfits on the bed. Neutral basics with a few favourites mean you pack less but still feel put together.

Use packing cubes or pouches
Group clothes into cubes (tops, bottoms, underwear, swimwear). It keeps your case organised, especially on multi‑centre trips.

Create a “first night” grab bag
Pop pyjamas, underwear, basic toiletries and one change of clothes into the top of your case or a small cube so you can be showered and in bed quickly.

Keep essentials in your hand luggage
Medication, valuables, chargers, a small toiletry kit and a spare top should always travel with you.

Decant liquids and label them
Travel‑size bottles save space and weight. Label them clearly to avoid any surprises after a long travel day.

Leave a little space (okay, I don’t do this one!)
Try not to pack right up to the limit, so there is room for souvenirs and easier repacking.

Catching up with my friend Vanessa in Kent at the weekend, we both agreed that Kuala Lumpur was a standout from our travels. When we were there the Petronas Towers were still being built, and I have since learned just how extraordinary they are.

Completed between 1993 and 1998, both towers are 88 storeys high and soar to around 1,483 feet. They held the title of the world’s tallest buildings from 1996 to 2004 and are still the tallest twin towers in the world today.

To achieve such a rapid build, two international teams were tasked with constructing one tower each. The South Korean‑led team finished their tower a week ahead of the Japanese‑led team and earned the honour of building the famous skybridge that links the two.

Kuala Lumpur is full of stories like this: a city where bold architecture, rich culture and amazing food all come together. If you would love to experience it for yourself, I can help you build a trip that is every bit as memorable.
