Calling all 9-5 mums in your 30s & 40s… 💛
Can we talk about the future for a second?
Because surviving right now isn’t the same as being secure later.
A lot of us are working full time, doing extra shifts, covering overtime, juggling kids, bills, food shops and life… just to stay afloat.
And yes, that might get us through today.
But what about 20 years from now?
The full UK State Pension is currently around £12,500 a year… roughly £241 a week. Most people already know that realistically, that isn’t enough for the lifestyle they’d actually want.
According to UK retirement studies, a SINGLE person now needs around:
• £13-14k a year just for a very basic retirement
• Around £31k a year for a moderate lifestyle
• And nearly £44k a year for a comfortable retirement with things like holidays, meals out and financial freedom
That’s the reality.
And remember…
Those figures are based on being mortgage-free.
So if you’re still renting, helping grown-up children, supporting family or carrying debt later in life… the pressure is even bigger.
The scary part?
So many women end up with smaller pensions because of maternity leave, part-time work, career breaks and years spent putting everyone else first.
So while extra shifts might help pay for today’s shopping…
what are they building for your future?
Because I don’t want to hit retirement age still worrying about money, counting pennies or relying on the bare minimum after working my whole life.
That’s why I started looking at extra income streams and smarter ways to create options now while I still can.
Not because life is terrible.
But because I want more than just surviving.
If this hits home for you… maybe now’s the time to think beyond the next payslip 💭
