Conor For Convenor Students of PPLS could benefit so much from a better support structure and sense of community. Vote Conor for PPLS School Convenor on MyEd 16th-19th March.

We need a more unified and visible student support structure. Better co-ordinated; better advertised. We need more opportunities to engage directly with staff. Being comfortable with your lecturers is a key part of being able to seek their help. We need a greater sense of community within the school. More department-organised social events where you can meet your classmates without the pretext of

work. We need a more meaningful and structured role for class reps. There needs to be passover between reps at the end of the year, and more ways for reps to stay active and keep up with student issues. We need a formal policy about formative work. Everyone wants more feedback, or room to experiment. If you submit it, you need a guarantee that it will be marked, and in a reasonable amount of time. We need more exchange options. The number of destinations is abysmally low, so we need to keep pressing for more. PPLS students shouldn't miss out on such a valuable experience. Vote Conor for PPLS School Convenor and we can work on these issues, as well as any more you feel are important, together.

Thanks for all your support over the last week everyone. We may not have won, but at least we brought the role of Convenor into the limelight, and I'm sure Samantha will do a great job.:)

To vote simply go to www.eusa.ed.ac.uk or click the 'Vote' button on the www.MyEd.ed.ac.uk homepage.

Voting works on a variation of single transferable vote. This means ranking candidates according to preference. Make sure you only put numbers for candidates you do support as the most popular second choice can sometimes win out over the person with the most firsts. ;)
