They say when the Burryman walks the streets of South Queensferry, luck follows for the year ahead. Clad in burrs from head to toe, he makes his ancient journey, and we greet him with a wee dram 🥃

What a month July has been aboard Maid of the Forth

We’ve had it all, sunshine, torrential rain, and everything in between. From spotting our resident dolphin Derek 🐬 to the impressive arrival of HMS Queen Elizabeth in the Forth, it’s been a month packed with memorable moments.

We’ve welcomed thousands of passengers, hosted visits from several cruise ships, and enjoyed brilliant folk and jazz evenings, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Forth Bridges and Inchcolm Island.

A huge thank you to everyone who sailed with us, rain or shine, you made July unforgettable. Here’s to an exciting August ahead 🛥️🌊

A warm welcome to all our new followers , we’re so glad to have you aboard 🛥️

If you’re just discovering us, here’s a little bit about what we do…

Maid of the Forth is the award-winning, family-run sightseeing cruise on the Firth of Forth, proudly sailing since 1993. As the original Inchcolm ferry, we've been welcoming visitors to this remarkable island for over 30 years, offering unforgettable journeys beneath the iconic Forth Bridges and beyond.

Based in South Queensferry, just outside Edinburgh, we offer unforgettable boat trips beneath the iconic Forth Bridges and out to the beautiful Inchcolm Island – home to a 12th-century abbey, WW defences, and an abundance of wildlife (including seals, seabirds… and the occasional visit from Derek the dolphin 🐬).

We also run a range of special cruises throughout the year, from live folk and jazz evenings to family events and private charters. Whether you're looking for a relaxing day out, a bit of history and wildlife, or something truly unique, we’ve got you covered.

Thanks for following, we can’t wait to welcome you on board.
