Most people probably see us travel agents as globe-trotters 🌍✈️ — travelling to amazing worldwide resorts and enjoying fabulous holidays all year round! ☀️🏝️
And yes, we’re incredibly lucky to do what we do… but there’s a whole other side to the job that you don’t always see. 💼✨
📚 Constant training to keep our knowledge of resorts, hotels and destinations completely up to date.
💻 Long working days, sometimes from 7am right through to midnight during peak periods, keeping on top of enquiries and making sure our customers are looked after.
🏨 Familiarisation trips where we travel to destinations with groups of people we may never have met, spending our days trudging around hotel after hotel, taking endless photos, making detailed notes and absorbing as much information as possible — all so we can give our customers the best possible advice. 📸📝
❤️ And then there’s the part of our job that really matters… being there when things go wrong.
Cancelled flights ✈️❌
Strikes 🚨
Airline disruption 🛫
Natural disasters 🌪️
Wars and conflicts 🌍
And, of course, Covid 🦠
When the unexpected happens, your travel agent is often the person you turn to. We’re there trying to find solutions, rearrange plans, chase airlines and suppliers, answer messages and calls, and support our customers when they’re stressed, worried or simply don’t know what to do.
Whatever the crisis, you can bet your travel agent is there trying to help. ❤️
And today was a perfect example of the dedication so many of us have to our jobs.
Even though I’m on my own holiday, I took half a day out to visit the fantastic Sani Resort. 🌴☀️
I spent hours walking around the entire complex in 39°C heat 🥵, taking videos, making notes and soaking up as much information as I could — not because I had to, but because I genuinely love improving my knowledge and being able to pass that experience on to my customers. 🥰
Because when you book your holiday with a travel agent, you’re not just getting someone who can book a flight and hotel…
You’re getting knowledge, experience, advice, support and someone who genuinely cares about getting it right for you. ❤️🌍✈️
We don’t just book holidays… we’re there before, during AND when things don’t go to plan. 🥰
