Roanoke, Virginia has an international culinary scene near the Blue Ridge Mountains. For our 29th anniversary we ate at Inca Grill Peruvian Cuisine. ¡Está muy rico!

Why did April fly back to England a few days after we got home?
😑The short version is that we filled all the forms out correctly and paid nearly £400 for the convenience of not carrying all the QM2 cruise and roadtrip clothes for 2 weels backpacking the Baltics. First we received an erroneous request for hundreds of £ for import tariffs we didn’t owe. That was resolved and we were told our parcels were on their way to the US. Then, a couple of days after arriving back home we learned that by error our parcels were returned to sender and sitting In Salisbury!

Quirky pub accommodations with everything you need at reasonable prices. Biggest compliment is service has been beyond fantastic.
Quirky because your staying upstairs from the pub. Look for seperate review from our first stay for more details.

Have a great experience at Heathrow IF you do a little planning. This airport can be heaven or hell and choices matter. Don’t underestimate how spread out things are. Plan your arrival and departure times and don’t assume the obvious transportation suggestion is the best idea!

Returning to Heathrow from Salisbury the default suggestion is to take the train into London then transfer 2x (Jubilee to Elizabeth Line). Another recommendation was to take the train to Woking and transfer to the RailAir bus… I’ll let you know how that goes!

Roman Baths from the outside.
Bath is known for the impressive Roman Baths. Part of the upper walkway is visable from outside in the square. A few shots of Roman Statues (created in the Victorian era) taken with my iPhone.
