If the weather takes an unfortunate swerve and prevents a juicy cruise ship from arriving I usually make a somewhat self-pitying post mourning all those refunded tickets.

But I often forget to post when the opposite happens! We've had bin-toppling windyness all week, but then today the weather magically behaved itself.

The passengers on the Majestic Princess were able to disembark and we had some wonderful tours — a New Zealander with very limited sight said that the power of the storytelling brought the town to life and she could see it all. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

My wedding day and honeymoon have been both been dreamlike in their joyousness.

Though it's sort of hilarious that the balmy weather ☀️ arrived in Cornwall the day after we left the country... and then vanished the day we got home! 🌧️

Here's a lil clip from the wedding — a spontaneous rendition of the Sportsman's Hornpipe with Neil of 🎻🪗

(Always bring your squeezebox with you — you never know when you might need it)

It's back to the life of a pirate-hatted storyteller now. The next few months promise to be busy with the telling of tales of those who once walked where we walk.

Today I had a guest from Chile who had travelled here because he had ancestors from Falmouth, including a sailor from the Falmouth Packet Service!

Falmouth does have various links to Chile. Any letter sent there from Britain used to travel from Falmouth's quaysides to the east coast of South America, before being carried over the Andes mountains to Santiago.

There was also a Chilean consulate here, managed by the Fox family, so that any of their sailors could find a level of support.

And, interestingly, the man heralded as 'The Liberator of Chile', Bernard O'Higgins, spent some time in Falmouth in 1799. There's a great article about him on the NMMC website.

Two storytellers, two styles. Endlessly loquacious chinwagger — professionally extroverted introvert.

The wonderful story of how an eccentric oddball became a hero to all of Falmouth. Huzzah!

It's a terribly exciting day for us! After many months of development, we've just launched a self-guided experience rooted in Falmouth history and our love of a good story.

The whole Scavenger Hunt is played using WhatsApp and can be experienced at one's own pace. It's really something special.

For the first month we're only charging £10, so if you're interested in trying it out, now is the time!
