Drover Holidays

Drover Holidays Cycling and walking holidays throughout Wales and the Welsh borders. Cycle hire in Hay-on-Wye & the Croeso i Gymru - Welcome to Wales.

At Drover Holidays, we believe Wales is best explored slowly - on foot or by bike. By travelling at walking or cycling pace we see, hear, smell and experience more. Our self-guided and escorted cycling and walking holidays cover the length and breadth of Wales and the Welsh Borders and vary in length from two nights to two weeks...

We are looking for a first-rate co-ordinator to join our team. As Tour Co-ordinator you will share responsibility for ensuring that our walking and cycling tours run smoothly. You will be based at our premises in Hay on Wye, but the role could involve delivering/collecting bikes and meeting/greeting customers in different locations around Wales. You will frequently be the first point of contact for tour customers, both in person and by phone/online, and will be responsible for meeting and exceeding their expectations. You will be working closely and communicating with the rest of the team on a daily basis, but often working independently without direct supervision.

Roles & Responsibilities

Full instruction and training will be provided - you don't need to know how to do everything listed on day 1!

- Responding in a friendly and efficient way to holiday enquiries (via email, phone and in person);
- Taking and managing bookings;
- Creating customised walking and cycling itineraries according to client requirements;
- Booking accommodation and arranging logistics;
- Preparing and checking tour information packs and customer correspondence;
- Meeting and greeting tour customers;
- Contributing to the Drover Holidays and Drover Cycles website and social media channels.
- Assisting with the handling of feedback and complaints.

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in the tourism sector;
- A passion for walking and/or cycling;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people.
- Good numeracy skills;
- Familiarity with computers and a good level of IT literacy;
- Full, clean driving licence.

We would like to stress that, while skills and experience are important, we would encourage you to apply if you have a passion for the job, even if you think you don’t tick all the boxes. If you have a good work ethic, bags of commitment and a willingness to learn we would like to hear from you.

At Drover Holidays we recognise and value diversity and believe the business benefits as a result of the range of experience, outlook and talents within our team. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all. We are committed to offering flexible working options where this is possible and appropriate.

We've had a rough couple of weeks here in the Welsh borders. Plenty of repairing and rebuilding to be done once the floodwaters recede.. but we'll certainly be ready to welcome visitors this year so please don't be put off booking your holiday in Wales! Every pound spent in a rural community will be especially welcome since storm damage can be costly to put right.

Offa's D**e Path alongside the River Teme in Knighton remains closed. The bank is being actively undercut by the river and this morning another chunk was about to go.

Anyone for a 280 mile ramble? If you fancy a challenging long distance walk through stunning upland scenery, we can highly recommend the Cambrian Way!

The Cambrian Way links Conwy to Cardiff and could take about three weeks to complete in one attempt.
