Beautiful day in Fort William today, our drone shows we are in the perfect position to enjoy Loch Linnhe in the sunshine, sitting on the benches you can see South across to Stronchreggan, and North to Corpach and beyond. 😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We are always looking for local activities to try, both for us and our guests. Today I went on the full day tour of the length of Loch Shiel with Loch Shiel Cruises. What a fantastic day! The Glen is mesmerising, often referred to as the last wilderness due to it's remote location, we had sightings of black throated divers, mergansers, herons, guillemots and a golden eagle - and got very close up with white tailed sea eagles (I think we saw 5 different birds). There was a scheduled stop-off for lunch at Acharacle (East to West bakery is amazing too!!) before heading back up to Glenfinnan with a final view of the Viaduct and Monument. Thank you Aly for a great day and your brilliant commentary.

A great day out is to take the train to Corrour. At 1350ft above sea level it's the highest station in the Uk with no road to it. There's some lovely walks from the station, including a munro and the station house restaurant has a lovely menu as well, just what you need after a day out walking.

A lovely museum to visit while you're staying is the Clan Cameron Museum at Achnacarry. It tells the history of Clan Cameron, its involvement with the Jacobites and the 1745 uprising. There are displays about the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders and the commandos who trained there in World War II.

We've been very lucky this year to have a pair of willow warblers nest in the field just behind the house this year, so while we're busy cooking guests breakfasts we have 1 eye on the warblers. The chicks are very close to fledging now and the parents are working so hard bringing them food😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
