I’ve been waiting ages to tell you about this!

It’s finally ready, Friday 2pm GMT the first episode goes live on YouTube, I’m sure I’ll leave plenty of links before then. And I can finally share behind the scenes photos, stories and my thoughts on the rather wild experience of doing a tour with a film crew.

Hope you like it!

I just wanted an excuse to play the version of Caledonia. The raven of Ben Lomond seemed like a decent fit.

Funny story, but the original idea for my tours of Scotland actually began here, in the Italian Dolomites 🇮🇹

It was never my plan to be a guide. Remembering dates, names of places, and being around groups of people was never exactly my strong suit.

Then, sitting around in the clouds at Tre Cime at some ridiculous hour, I thought who’s to say that’s what a tour has to be?

The way I’ve always travelled is to take my time. Never fill the day. Leave room for things to happen. Take a wrong turn, make some mistakes, change the plan.

So that’s exactly the energy I brought to my trips. And it turns out some of you kinda like that too.

For almost a decade of tours in Scotland, I’ve been sneaking off to Italy to explore, wander, and learn about all the things that make this place so special to me. Always with the idea that one day I’d come back not only as a guest, but as a guide.

And apparently, one day is today.

Distinct Italy. 🇮🇹

27 years later, and still a bit too close to the edge.

Taking my dad on the same island adventure he took me on all those years ago.

Some things have changed, a few more people, a bigger boat, and another sister. I managed to leave my game boy behind this time though.

Summer so far has been quite the event.
Quiet beaches and busy islands. Honestly Ill usually avoid the latter but when its 10,000 puffins I don’t tend to mind as much

Bright green hills and Glens. The ferns have taken over the landscape and it could not look more beautiful. The wildflowers have been taking turns on the main stage since early spring, but with the ferns growing 6 feet tall only the foxgloves are keeping up with them!

Footsteps of the King. Of all the spots that claim historical significance, these are my favourites. The caves on the coast of Arran, and the dry castle tucked away on the shores of Ardnamurchan

Colourful towns and beaks. Didn’t think there was only going to be one puffin picture here, right?

The Viaduct is a little too busy these days.
