This week was a perfect example of WHY YOU SHOULD BOOK WITH A TRAVEL AGENT over an online website. Air Canada staff went on strike this week resulting in 100s of cancelled flights. I had a client flying with them, they had already travelled to London for their flight when the cancellation came through. This could have been an absolute nightmare for them but instead they enjoyed their day whilst I organised the best alternative flights for them and checked them in so they just had to turn up to the airport.

Yes when an airline cancels they have to provide you with an alternative option BUT, they have 1000s of people to replan in a situation like this on already busy flights so available seats are at an absolute minimum and they aren’t in any rush to get to you. It will more than likely be the next day or worse before you get to your destination, loosing valuable days from your holiday and if you had a specific itinerary planned potentially ruining your holiday. Instead you need someone to quickly identify an alternative flight and get this arranged with the airline- this is where your TA is worth their weight in gold.

My client got to their destination only a couple of hours later than planned and at no extra cost πŸ’ͺ🏼

Remember a TAs services don’t cost anything and they can normally beat or worst case match an online price!
