Thank you to all of Colin’s Tesco fans. Both staff, customers and visitors. They have managed to raise £180 in memory of Colin! This has now been sent over to StraySafe where the money will most certainly put to use saving and looking after many cats and kittens.
It hurts so much now Colin is gone, but at least this amazing contribution to a worthwhile cause could happen.
Thanks to Nicola at Tesco who organised this and was always on the lookout for Colin.
Thanks to everyone for loving and always keeping an eye open for him. It has been such fun sharing all his adventures. All those cars he inspected and managed to hitch a lift home. The videos, the photos snd stories were endless.

RIP little Colin. Adventure Colin. 🥲 Missing you so so very much. X 🐈‍⬛

I used to see him often as I went over the hill near Tesco’s. I even got to introduce him to my wife one morning, she works nights at Tesco’s and couldn’t believe it when I told her how far he traveled. He was wonderful so cute, he will be missed by so many people. I count myself lucky that I got to see and now him, he loved to jump on my HCT and would head butt which I believe means I was him his “family”

Thanks Mark Glen for all the photos and videos. You got to posting before I did. Fb playing up.

Such a happy sight. 😊❤️😿

“Hi Nic and Ingrid
Your post today was heartbreaking. It’s always tough when we lose our little friends and yours was one special cat.

A neighbour’s cat decided to move in with us a few years ago and then officially, as he was dying, as his owner was ill and her partner abusive. We nursed him right to the end even feeding him kitten milk as he struggled in his last days.

The first day after he passed I was very down and walking near the bridge at Tescos. Who should I meet but, himself, meowing as he approached me. I checked his collar and then shortly afterwards (as I was worried that he was lost!) and then subsequently saw that he had a page. I only ever had one other encounter with Colin which I think I shared with you last summer, but occasionally saw him on his rounds or on top of the booth on the odd visit to Tescos.

Like everyone, I loved the update posts, always made me smile after a bad day and I worried (as we all did) when his tracker stopped working or he hadn’t been home.

I even dreamed about him once (he was walking down the narrows with our rescue tabby, Bella, looking after her as she gets bullied a lot by other cats).

As you have seen, Colin was much loved, not just by the people of Alty, but from far away. G is a Doctor at the Alex in Cheadle and even one of her nursing colleagues followed Colin after she had told her about him.

I really hope the love and condolences shared by people this week has helped sooth the rawness.

If you feel able to, please continue to share the photos and memories. I think we all find them uplifting.

Thank you again for sharing such a special Cat. Colin really was one of a kind.

Best wishes D& G x”

Thank you for this. It has inspired me to share Colin’s time as a therapy cat. A skill he passed onto Bertie. He was by my side when needed whenever I came home from chemo for leukaemia (now clear; thank you Christie’s) Makes you wonder how much of my cure was down to cat love.
This is Bertie taking care the day after covid and flu vaccs when I felt grim. Colin safely delegated 🥰

Thanks for enduring a very long post. But one thing often leads to another 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thought I would share I memory about Colin.
One afternoon he decided to ventur to the other side of Hale where he spent the afternoon at Hale Tennis club… having a great time chasing the balls. He got carried away and followed a family back to their house off Whalley Road. Luckily we had reported him missing on the Neighbour hood app
And a friend of the family saw it… he was repatriated straight away having had a nice meal with them..
xx❤️ He just used to forget to go home!!

The overwhelming love and support just keeps on flowing. 💔❤️🙏🏽Thank you Nicola at customer services for setting this up ...

Thank you Nicola at customer services for setting this up in store.

The ongoing support out there is unbelievable, and helpful to all of us grieving who had Colin in their lives.

I had no idea the response would be so incredibly massive! Some messages perhaps?…. But no. Not when it’s The Colin. Special legend of a cat 😢💔

Love to all

Honestly. I am lost for words. Devastated of course and all the emotions that go with it. Thanks you all so much for the beautiful posts. We have read every single one or them. So heart warming to experience the Colin Love out there.
Staff and customers at Tesco have expressed a wish to somehow remember Colin. As did a lot of Colin’s fans on here. Suggestions have been made. For now, Nicola at Customer Services will set up a collection for for a worthwhile cause, obviously linked to cats. There are so many fantastic rescues and charities out there. We decided StraySafe a local cat rescue based in Sale, as preferred a local organisation.

StraySafe is Bertie’s first home after being found alone in a tied up plastic bag. The rest is history and he and Colin became good friends. They do amazing work although being inundated with cats and kittens. Bertie has been my rock these past few days (also my son who came up from London and daughter who lives locally I suppose!)

Please don’t feel obliged to contribute. But if you so wish I will attack their link

Here are some photos of gorgeous Colin. There are so many! It’s difficult to chose.

This is the StraySafe link.

Absolutely devasted this morning xx

❤️❤️❤️ It’s with a very very heavy heart I have to inform you all of the passing of Colin.Sadly we think he was hit by a car a few feet from his home yesterday and found this morning by a neighbour. He looked peaceful.
I am devastated as I’m sure you all will be.
His godmother Nicola Sloan and I said are goodbyes earlier and shed many tears. His other 2nd home Bernie is also devasted .
Colin was a unique cat not bothered about food he just loved the people of Altrincham and being among you all. I tried many times to keep him in but you know he would always escape. He provided such therapy to us all- A one off..
Colin ( the Covid kitten) will always be in our hearts- we take comfort that we had him in r lives and loved him very very much.
I thanks you all for looking out for Colin bringing him home loving him over his short but hugely amazing life.
May he rest in peace.
Much love
Ingrid and his god mother Nicola and Bernie and her family all from his street Elm Road ❤️

Colin had visitors from some of his Hartlepool fans. He found us to say hello on our way out into Alti. And then followed us home after all our nights out! Colin was a bit slow being preoccupied with activities in the bushes. 🤷🏻‍♀️Also all the attention from fans on the bridge.
