Setting Sail with Purpose 🚢
🤩 George has just come back from his first ever cruise. He was very pleased to have been invited to the annual Hays Travel Cruise Conference, which this year took place on board the Cunard Queen Anne. Here is what he had to say about the experience:
Cruise Conference was such a fantastic experience, most definitely one of the highlights of my career. It gave me the opportunity to hear from our amazing cruise suppliers and head office teams + explore what life is like onboard a cruise ship for the first time 👨✈️
Queen Anne is a beautiful ship. It's contemporary yet elegant design and excellent facilities paired with Cunard's famous White Star Service made it an excellent experience and one which has introduced me perfectly to the world of cruising ✨
We were lucky enough to have a balcony cabin, which was decorated perfectly and gave us our own personal outdoors space to enjoy. It's a truly unique feeling having your own private space where you can have a drink, read or chat to your traveling companion whilst watching the ocean unfurl. The cabin stewards were attentive and did a brilliant job of keeping the cabin in order + the beds were super comfy! 🌊
The food was excellent; brilliant quality and presented beautifully. Most meals were enjoyed in the Britannia Restaurant, whereas breakfast and some lunches were taken in the Artisans Foodhall, where the selection on offer is vast. I also experienced the famous Cunard Afternoon Tea, which was both elegant and delicious 🍽️
The venues onboard offered something for everyone. From the relaxed Pavilion and the Panorama Pool Club, to the lively Bright Lights Society and Golden Lion pub, there truly is something for everyone. One of my favourites was the Commodore Club; a relaxed martini bar with excellent 270 degree views of the ocean 🍸
My top tips:
🗺️ Spend a little time before embarkation day familiarising yourself with the deck plan of your ship. We can always help you in store with this, it will definitely work in your favour knowing where some key facilities are before you board
🌅 Choose a balcony! No matter where you are cruising, having your own outdoor space truly is a fantastic feeling and one I would reccommend everybody tries
🍹 Book a package at the time of booking. It gives you more than just drinks; with speciality dining credit and WiFi also included. There are 2 options to choose from; Signature and Premium Signature. Both offer drinks, WiFi and dining credit, however exact inclusions between the 2 vary, enquire to find out more
👔 Take a varied wardrobe! Dinnertimes call for smarter attire, Gala Nights are where you will dress to impress with suits and dresses. Daytimes are suprisingly relaxed, you can wear casual and comfortable clothing during daylight hours
