British and world Record Flight
On Saturday 23 rd May Deborah took off on a solo altitude attempt from Gladbeck in the Refire 1000 m3 gas balloon.
Filled to 60 % volume so at height it was full she reached an Gps altitude of 6474 m breaking the previous record set in 1975 by the required 3% giving her the new Female World Record for the AA07 class ( subject to ratification)
The whole refire team made this happen their encouragement and support was unwavering along with the German aviation air traffic and the Eimers family.

More than a race. 🎈🏆

A concept that shaped gasballooning. The Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett was founded in 1906 by James Gordon Bennett Jr. with one clear idea: all teams start under identical conditions and only skill, endurance and decision making define the outcome. No predefined routes, no waypoints, no external advantages. This principle still defines the race today and is why it is considered the most demanding competition in gas ballooning.

In 2026, this legacy returns to Germany 🇩🇪
