Moving home is a major life event, and clear communication and teamwork between everyone involved can make all the difference. When estate agents, solicitors, removal companies, buyers and sellers work together, potential misunderstandings can be avoided and the whole process becomes smoother and less stressful.
We were disappointed to hear recently that a well-known and VERY established local estate agent had blamed our removal team for items being left behind at a property on a move last week. 😞
The reality was simple: our customer had specifically instructed us to leave those items there.
At Howarths Removals, we always check—and double-check—with our customers that everything they want moving has been collected before we leave. We certainly don’t just leave belongings behind carelessly.
🙏🏼On this occasion, we moved both the seller and the buyer in the chain so thankfully the buyer understood exactly what had happened and knew our team wasn’t responsible.
The property industry is challenging enough at the moment without businesses passing the buck to avoid dealing with an issue. Once a sale completes, customers still deserve support, honesty and clear communication!! Not “Oh, the removals team left those items behind!” It’s simply NOT good enough.
‼️Moving home involves estate agents, solicitors, removal companies, buyers and sellers. Perhaps we should all work together, take ownership when problems arise and make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for everyone.
