Dawn up the creek - there used to be quite a few people living on boats on the creekside before Carne. It'd make for a lovely commute to St Anthony! End of a busy week with lots of boatwork, readying cottages for the spring, and a mix of regulars and new visitors enjoying our cottages and the walks around the creek and headland.

I'm sure most of you know the folklore about the 15th Century church in St Anthony - a Norman noble sailing across Falmouth Bay was driven into the safe harbour of Gillan Creek after praying to the patron saint of sailors, and decided to build a church in St Anthony's honour. We'd always assumed this to be apocryphal, but a geologist walking the coast path recently was adamant that the granite of the tower is not Cornish and had to have been imported from somewhere, which lends a bit more credence to the old tales!
