Dirty Reiver returns on 23–25 April 2027.

And trust us... this is one you won't want to miss. 👀
As we enter a brand-new decade of Dirty Reiver, we're preparing to open an exciting new chapter in the event's history.

Over the last 10 years, we've built something truly special together. The iconic Kielder gravel, the unforgettable event village atmosphere, the remote wilderness, the camaraderie, the challenge, and that unmistakable Dirty Reiver spirit.
The good news? That's not changing.

The heart and soul of Dirty Reiver will remain exactly where it belongs.
But gravel riding has evolved, and so have we.

For 2027, we're introducing a fresh new format that embraces a different side of gravel riding while staying true to everything that has made Dirty Reiver the UK's original Gravel Grinder.

Expect adventure. Expect epic riding. Expect the unexpected.
We're keeping a few cards close to our chest for now, but full details – along with a brand-new website – will be revealed in the coming months.

This is the next chapter of Dirty Reiver.
And it's going to be worth the wait. 🔥

Travel Update – Please Read

If you’re heading to Dirty Reiver from Bellingham to Kielder, there’s something important you need to know…

You will see road closure signs in place due to ongoing work at Tarset Bridge.

BUT — for the event only (we try our hardest to make it work):

🚦 From 5pm Thursday to 5pm Sunday, traffic lights will be in operation on the bridge so you can pass through.
✅ You are permitted to drive past the road closure signs during these times.
⛔ Outside of these times, a long diversion will be in place — and it is a long one.

So please:
⏰ Leave plenty of time for your journey
📍 Plan ahead
😅 And don’t say we didn’t warn you… (we definitely have)

We’ve just had confirmation from SRAM that the Outliers team riders will be hosting an exclusive “Shakedown Ride”, kicking off at 2pm on the Friday from the SRAM booth.

The Outliers are the UK’s first professional gravel racing team, built to compete at the very highest level of international gravel racing, all while embracing adventure and pushing performance boundaries.

So if you fancy picking up a few tips, riding alongside the pros, and getting a feel for how the experts do it… this is your chance.

As we roll into event week, there’s one thing we want you all to remember…
The 7 P’s:

Proper Preparation and Planning Prevents P* Poor Performance
Yes… we said it. And yes… it still applies 😅

So before you load up the car / van / last-minute panic bag, have a quick check:
🔧 Bike serviced?
🧰 Spares packed?
👕 Kit sorted (for all weather… this is Kielder after all)
🍌 Nutrition ready?
📍 Route downloaded?
😴 Sleep… planned (or at least attempted)
A little bit of prep now goes a long way to making your day out on the gravel a whole lot more enjoyable.

Just over 3 weeks to go…
The countdown to Dirty Reiver weekend is officially ON.
All those early mornings, long miles, muddy bikes, and “why am I doing this?” moments… this is what it’s all been building towards.

Whether you’re lining up for your first ever Dirty Reiver or coming back for more, you’re part of something pretty special. The anticipation, the nerves, the buzz at the start line… and that unbeatable feeling of crossing the finish after a big day out on the gravel.
Over the next few weeks, it’s all about the final touches:
- Dial in the bike
- Check the kit
- Practice your fuelling (yes, carbs absolutely count as training)
Most importantly, take a moment to enjoy it. The build-up is part of the experience too.

Important Course Update

After reviewing rider data from previous years, we’ve identified one key issue… you’re all getting too fast. So for 2026, The Dirty Reiver will be introducing a new 'Average Speed Limit' across the course.

📡 Exceed it, and you’ll trigger our newly installed “Reiver Radar” system
⏱️ Repeat offenders will be redirected via a short “scenic loop” (roughly 15km… uphill)
☕ Ride responsibly and you’ll be rewarded with extra cake at the next feed station

We believe this will help preserve the true spirit of the event: long days, questionable decisions, and just the right amount of suffering.
