Congratulations to Koffee & Cake who are the next Pershore business to be awarded Visit-Pershore’s “Purple Star” award, situated in Shop 2, Bridge Street.

This independent family run business is owned and managed by Colin, his wife Christine and daughter Beth. The family have run Koffee & Cake for over two years now and have very much become part of the local community. The family are helped by staff team members, Chloe, Jess and Hannah.

Koffee and Cake specialises in Speciality Espresso Coffee, locally roasted by Studio Coffee Roasters, who are based in Spetchley, near Worcester and delicious homemade cakes which are baked locally by The Treats Hut from Tewkesbury.🍰🍪🧁

Looking in the glass counter and under the glass cake domes, I can see all manner of tempting treats including plump sponge cakes, mouthwatering chocolate brownies, scrumptious blondies. The amazing looking Cookie Pie looks too tempting for words! The family also sell extremely good cheesecakes and toasted tea cakes.

For customers with specific dietary requirements there are gluten free options and there is also the everything free option which is both diary free, vegan and gluten free. Strict food handling practices are followed to avoid cross contamination, including the use of separate tongs for cake handing, separate storage areas in the fridge and separate jugs for the alternative milk options, this is to reassure their customers that they are safe to order.

In this recent hot weather, the iced drinks such as, frappes, iced coffee, milk shakes, iced teas and lemonade coolers have all gone down well with the customers.🥛🧋🥤

The family is keen to make the café feel a welcoming space for everyone; they are happy to move the furniture to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The café offers work experience opportunities to young people with learning differences.
There is a toy box to keep children amused while parents relax with their coffee, the café aims to be family orientated. There is a book swap shelf with books for both adults and children. 📕📗📘

Koffee and Cake is keen to be a part of the community; they have helped local events by donating cakes or gift vouchers as prizes for raffles. The café sponsors a youth team at Pershore Rugby Club. The family teamed up with the Midsummer Brass committee and offered discounts for people attending the musical event. Carnival day the family dressed up in Country and Western style dress to support the event, the windows are decorated frequently to join in with community events. Something to look forward to will be the plum themed items that the café will sell using local plum jam to tie in with the Pershore Plum Festival. 🤩🤩🤩
