I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all our Welcome to Holyhead volunteers!

Over the last couple of weeks they have really put a shift in. With so much of my time tied up with Party in y Parc, it’s been difficult for me to be out with them as much as I normally would.

But they’ve absolutely stepped up and shown just how much they’ve learned and taken in over the years. They know what needs doing, they support each other and they continue to give visitors the warmest possible welcome to Holyhead.

Holyhead Town Council manages, coordinates and supports the volunteer programme, but the volunteers themselves really are the backbone of Welcome to Holyhead.

These are people giving up their own time because they care about our town, and we are incredibly lucky to have them.

So from me personally, thank you to every single one of you. You’ve made the last few weeks so much easier and I really appreciate everything you do.

Absolute stars and a credit to Holyhead! 👏❤️

Whilst travelling in Ireland, I got the chance to meet Ursula Duffy who runs the meet and greet of the Cruise Ship passengers for Cobh2026 Cobh Tourism Cobh Tourist Office 🇮🇪

It was interesting to see how the passengers of Ambassador Cruise Line Ambience were met , the ships generally call at Cobh prior to Holyhead or follow on there from our Port 🛳

Cobh is a beautiful Town , it was lovely to see it so vibrant, the local cafes and restaurants remarked that the Cruise Ships are so welcome as it also brings out the locals who love to come down and see the beautiful Ships docked so close to the Town 👏

Thank you Ursula, it was so lovely to chat with you and swap stories 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Big shout out to our leader Nick Murphy (Tourism Holyhead ) think we can all agree he really does go over and above in coming up with ideas that make Holyhead such a great place to be 👏
Well done to everyone from the council and beyond for pulling off such an event 👏

WOW. WOW. WOW.

It’s actually hard to put into words what last night meant.

To stand there and look out across Y Parc and see adults, children, families, friends — all together, dancing, smiling, singing and just loving life… THAT is what it was all about. ❤️

Months and months of planning. The stress. The sleepless nights. The phone calls. The meetings. The worrying. The hard work.

And then you see THAT.

You see Holyhead absolutely buzzing. You see thousands of smiles. You see families making memories together. You see our town come alive.

And suddenly, every single bit of it was worth it.

We have a LOT of thank-yous to come because something like this doesn’t happen without an incredible amount of people working behind the scenes.

But the first and biggest thank you belongs to YOU — THE PEOPLE WHO TURNED UP!

You bought the tickets.
You supported the event.
You filled Y Parc.
You danced.
You sang.
You brought the atmosphere.

YOU made Party In Y Parc what it was. 🔥

This wasn’t just a music festival.

This was a night for Holyhead. A night our town can be proud of.

Thank you for believing in it. Thank you for supporting it. And thank you for showing exactly what Holyhead can do when we all come together. ❤️

We’ll never forget looking out and seeing you all enjoying yourselves.

HOLYHEAD… YOU WERE INCREDIBLE!

Holyhead will be buzzing again today with 2 large Cruise Ships Oceania Cruises Vista and Marina 🛳🛳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

If you see any passengers around the Town please say hello, guide them to your favourite places , tell them some interesting facts 👏👏

It is set to be a busy week, there are 2 more larger Cruise Ships docking on Tuesday , and 2 at the weekend, details to follow..... 🛳🛳
