Don’t you just love a snug?

The snug in our Beach House is a special place. Many guests tell us it’s their favourite place to sit, and relax or daydream or whatever, looking out at the garden.

Whether it’s enjoying that first coffee in the morning, or a delicious glass of wine in the evening as the sun sets after a wonderful day exploring the gorgeous East Yorkshire coast.

And with the French doors open, you can sometimes hear the sea at the end of the road, which is always a little magical.

The snug in our Salty Paws cottage (the ‘Crow’s Nest’) is again a real favourite with our guests. Super comfy and cosy, with a sea view to boot!

Have a peek through the telescope to see the views across the bay. Or maybe just relax in the wonderful rocking chair, enjoying a tipple from the complimentary gin bar.

You can just sit for hours in snugs, doing as much or as little as you want. It’s so good for the soul.

Meet Martha, our new little fur baby, who we were so excited to welcome into our family a couple of weeks ago.

Our 5 year old Cocker Spaniel Mabel has been a bit unsure what to make of her new little sister, but relations seem to be getting warmer with each day that passes! We’re sure they will be the best of pals before too long.

We have a rare opportunity to stay at our Beach House cottage for a weekend on 8th August, so not too long to wait before Martha can enjoy her first holiday and her first experience of the beach! Magical times.

Final opportunities to stay at our gorgeous boutique cottages

After 4 and a half wonderful years welcoming hundreds of fabulous guests to our cottages by the sea, we’ve decided to call it a day at the end of this year.

So we just wanted to let everyone know that the remaining dates in July, August, November and December are the last opportunities to stay at the cottages.

We feel truly blessed and thrilled that our boutique holiday cottages have only ever received 5 star reviews on Dog Friendly, Facebook and Google.

Warm sun, golden sand, and yet the kind of beach day that felt like a secret….

Yesterday was a lovely day here in Mappleton, in the middle of the school holidays. But as always, the beach was so quiet – just the sea, the blissful sound of waves and a handful of folk.

Another Mappleton beach day where you would feel like the whole coastline is yours. It really is still the hidden gem of the East Yorkshire coast.

Fingers crossed for lots of sunshine this summer because our stunning boutique Beach House cottage now has a wonderful new outdoor-living-room garden!

Relax on our sumptuous new egg chair, or the daydreaming chair as we like to think of it, with a cuppa or a glass of something, and (if the gentle breeze is in the right direction) listen to the waves breaking on the shore at the end of the road.

Cook up something delicious in our outdoor BBQ kitchen and dining area.

Or simply while away those summer days on our new and fabulously comfy sun loungers. The garden is a real sun trap!

And for when dusk is setting in and you never want the day to end, we have lights on the pergola and some blankets in the snug for you to use outside.

All we need now is the sun. But then the sun always shines on the East Yorkshire coast.
