Don't sleep on Guangzhou 🌙🇨🇳
This city deserves way more attention.
Yongqing Fang is a beautifully revitalised historic neighbourhood in Guangzhou, China's third-largest city and one of the best places to experience the city's old and new sides together. It's super quaint and absolutely charmed us!
Historic Cantonese arcaded houses (qilou) and narrow alleyways have been carefully preserved through an award-winning regeneration project, giving the area a nostalgic, almost timeless feel.
Wander through the old streets and you'll find modern coffee shops tucked between heritage buildings, locals going about their daily lives, and traditional Cantonese culture still thriving through crafts like embroidery and Cantonese opera.
This was the perfect layover city for us to experience different sides of China in just a few short hours. If you've got a layover here, don't just stay at the airport!

Winter in New Zealand is criminally underrated.
Hot pools hit different this time of year, the skies are still blue, beach walks are crisp, flights are cheaper, and iconic spots like Hobbiton are far less busy.
Oh and you can raft down the world's tallest commercially rafted waterfall... who said winter was boring?
