Today marks World Photography Day, so we wanted to take the opportunity to showcase some of the incredible photographers we’ve had the pleasure of working with here at Achnagairn📷 We are very lucky to work with so many talented creatives.
Some of the photographers have given us some of their favourite spots or top tips for any future couple’s who are getting married with us💜
1 - “My go-to spot at the castle is under the trees along the front road. 🌿 The shade from above creates beautiful, studio-quality light and lovely catchlights in the eyes. Shooting from the other side gives a gorgeous backlit look. Always a great place to start the day! “
2 - “I love the confetti at the front door as you don’t see much people doing it.”
3 & 4 -
Im lucky to be shooting at Achnagairn regularly and I am still finding new spots with fresh angles and hidden gems at every wedding, but one of the classic shots that couples always want is one from the maze gardens loom back with the castle as the backdrop. It’s a great location and fills the frame with the full castle in all its glory.
Another of my favourite shots to catch is one of the couple on the walk back up the aisle. The ballroom has huge windows above the balcony and flood beautiful natural light on the aisle. A top tip is to always have the bride facing the light as they walk down. It’s a lovely moment. You can see the joy on couples faces as they announced as married and family and friends faces provide the backdrop along with the beautiful fireplace which is often dressed with flowers.”
5 & 6 “Outdoor ceremonies at Achnagairn are honestly one of my absolute favourites ✨🌿 There’s just something so magical about saying “I do” under the trees. My top tip? Go for an aisle confetti toss straight after, then stay outside with your guests for drinks - it keeps the energy light, relaxed and full of joy, the perfect way to start your celebrations. 💛”
7 & 8 - “My tip to future couples would be lean into the natural beauty of the grounds and the impressive original features.”
