Rowan cottage beckons the visitor back to Mull time and time again. Situated in Salen, Rowan Cottage is at the very crossroads of this beautiful island making it an ideal for exploring both the North and the South of the island. Within a hundred yards, guests can take advantage of the Salen Hotel, Spar shop, 2 coffee shops and a petrol station.
The cottage is an intriguing combination of one of Salen`s oldest and tastefully updated cottage. The cosy lounge has a multifuel stove which heats central heating radiators and hot water and the occasional low ceiling reminds you that this is a cottage that has origins in the past. Not many have escaped the ravages of time so this is a real gem. A great bonus is there is private parking opposite the cottage with a large barbecue area just behind in a wonderful expanse of lawn.

Situated alone on the remote South side of the picturesque, community owned Isle of Ulva, Cragaig Bothy is available for visitors to the island.
This unique, off-grid property offers basic but cosy accommodation with no electricity, what it does have is the opportunity for living simply and taking in the magnificent views out over the sea to Iona, Staffa and the Treshnish Islands along with peace, quiet and solitude. The island is renowned for its stunning scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna – it is home to the majestic White-tailed Sea Eagle, Golden Eagles, Otters, Seals, Red Deer and much more.
There is no road to the bothy, so access is by foot after a two hour walk from the Ulva Ferry. It can also be reached by sea via kayak or boat. The water in the bothy runs directly from the hillside, it is not suitable for drinking, however there is a gas cooker which can be used for boiling water and cooking. There is a wood burning stove that in addition to heating the bothy, also heats the water for the taps and shower via a back boiler. Logs, kindling and firelighters are all provided.
There are no shops on the island so all supplies must be brought over from Mull and carried in.
