Currently in Cyprus and it’s 28 degrees so if you want a later summer break it’s a great alternative to the Canaries
It’s steeped in history and gastronomy is fabulous
So grateful to constantinou bros hotels for hosting me and their wonderful hospitality showing us their wonderful accommodation and also sights of Paphos

Just back from an amazing trip to Madeira. What a beautiful island and something for everyone. Truly breathtaking scenery. I walked a Levada (water channel) through stunning forest, took off road trip in jeep. Second day we went dolphin and whale watching and saw 3 s***m whales, visited the most beautiful palace gardens arriving by cable car with fantastic views of Funchal, and descended 2km in the famous wicker toboggans downhill (certainly an experience!)
Next day was a full day tour of the island to discover the contrasts of the diverse island including seeing the natural swimming pools, watched spectacular fireworks from a fortress
Final day we mixed with locals at their local farmers market discovering (and tasting) many unique varieties of fruit. Then finished our whistle top visit with
a tour of the Madeira winery. All this topped off with the best hosts and hospitality enjoying food and drink a plenty including all the local dishes which are certainly a must on any visit and got the taste for the local ‘hooch’
