Nicaragua is known for its beautiful pottery, much of it made in the Pueblos Blancos, just a short drive from the picturesque town of Granada. Visits to see the potters in action are a popular option for visitors based in Granada, often combined with a visit to nearby Apoyo Lagoon. The fine example of traditional Nicaragua pottery in the image below was found at Hotel Rancho Santana on the Pacific Coast.

Many of our clients ask us whether the twice weekly market at Chichicastenango in Guatemala is still worth visiting - essentially whether it remains an authentic experience. Our response is always yes, it is definitely worth visiting and one of the highlights of any holiday to the country. Although perhaps not so well known, the Museum of the Revolution in Leon Nicaragua is certainly worth a visit, especially as some of the older guides are, well, ex revolutionaries. The image below is a mural from the museum which is located in the centre of Leon.

A very kind Google review from our client, DP, who travelled with his wife on our 1 week tour of the Yucatan Peninsula.
