☀️ BACK TO REALITY TOMORROW! ☀️
I’ll be back at my desk tomorrow after a sneaky few days in what genuinely feels like my second home… Kalamaki, Zante 🇬🇷💙
If you follow my stories, you’ll have seen that I’ve been away, but I haven’t made a huge deal of it because I’ve still been confirming bookings, answering enquiries and looking after existing bookings while I’ve been here. So it’s pretty much been business as usual… just with a slightly better view! 😂☀️
And WOW, it has been HOT 🥵
This was our 7th visit to Kalamaki, so by now it really does feel like home. We know where we’re going, we know our favourite places and we can relax pretty much from the moment we step onto the plane.
Although when you’re only here for a short break, “relax” might be stretching it slightly… I feel like I’ve spent half the time running around trying to see all our favourite people, eat in all our favourite places and squeeze everything in! 😂
One of the things I LOVE about Kalamaki is that it’s only around 10 minutes from Zakynthos Airport ✈️ so you can be off the plane and into holiday mode ridiculously quickly.
And for me, as the ultimate plane geek, being so close to the airport means I can happily watch the planes coming and going to my heart’s content. ✈️😍
A few of our Kalamaki favourites…
🍽️ Pandesia Restaurant
Always packed to the rafters, super-friendly staff, a brilliant atmosphere and really good food. There’s a reason we go back time and time again!
🍹 Friends Bar
If you like a good cocktail, this place never fails! They’ll also somehow manage to find whatever football match you want to watch, so it’s always a winner with my husband ⚽😂 The staff are brilliant and their twice-weekly quiz is SO much fun… although disappointingly, we didn’t manage to win this year! 😭
🍉 Melon Bar
Famous for its cocktails served in a watermelon, but the real reason we keep going back is Claude, quite possibly one of the most hospitable men in Zante! 💙 He does some very good food too, and if you’re a fan of a good steak, it’s definitely worth the walk up there.
💙 And a few honourable mentions because I couldn't possibly talk about our Kalamaki favourites without including…
🍹 Iguana Bar
🍸 Island Bar
🍽️ Dias Restaurant
🍹 POM
🍽️ Bullhorn Restaurant
⛳ Crazy Golf - because no Kalamaki trip is complete without at least a little bit of family competition! 😂
All places we love, all places we happily go back to and all part of the reason Kalamaki feels so familiar to us now. 🇬🇷💙
And honestly, there are so many more places I would have loved to fit in, but that’s the trouble with a short break… there simply aren’t enough meals, drinks or hours in the day! 😂
Add in beach days 🏖️, pool days 💦, plenty of frappes ☕ and ice-cold Mythos 🍺 to cool us down, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself, as always.
Kalamaki might not be the biggest or fanciest resort in Greece, but after seven visits, it has a very special place in our hearts. 💙🇬🇷
Now it’s back to the desk tomorrow, slightly more tanned and ready to start booking everyone else’s holidays again! ✈️🌍
Anyone else have that one holiday destination they just keep going back to? 👇
